I was just driving through downtown Vancouver, listening to The End
(107.7 FM) out of Seattle, and I heard a cover of New Order's Bizarre
Love Triangle. This cover was an acoustic version and it had female
vocals. The announcer said that the band was from Melbourne, Australia,
but when he said the name of the band, I hit a bad patch of static.
Anyone have any idea who does this song?
Thanks.

Terry.

I heard the song on the local radio station and according the dj, it was
by a group (or singer) called Frente(sp).

the band is called Frente! and the ep is called Labour of Love ...it's out on
Mammoth...honestly though...the cover by far stands out amongst the rest of
the material.

THe Statton version is on the Cd,
Devine and Statton - The Prince of Wales.
Devine being Ian Devine.

CD is on Rockville Records, (ROCK 6049-2), 1990.

The previous poster mentions Frente, who are of course an australian
band. Though I've not heard that version yet.

Sorry, I missed the original post...

This cover version is actually by neither of the two Douglas mentions - it's
by a Melbourne band called Frente! who have just released their first UK
single after having been highly succesful here in Australia. Frente! perform
Bizzarre Love Triangle quite often live, but recorded it specifically for the
UK single - it's not available in Australia. The female vocalist in question
is Angie Hart. Frente! have an album out titled "Marvin The Album" - produced
by the former Paisley Park engineer and Ingrid Chavez producer Michael
Koppelman - and several EPs, as well as an early independant mini-album
called "Whirled". Their new single here is called "Lonely" and features a
song they co-wrote and recorded with Ween during their visit here, titled
"Get Real".

Feel free to mail me for any further questions...

Wrong. In the case of the song being played on The End, the group
is called Frente.

Can anyone help me out on getting a copy of this. I've seen a
copy of it at my radio station, but short of calling up mammoth
and ordering it, no one can seem to track it down. Even the store
I frequent here in town, known for their ability to get anything is
having trouble tracking it down. What Gives? How come Mammoth is
giving out radio copies but nothing else?

Frente are a Melbourne band. I must listen to the radio more because I
haven!t heard this.
Frente released an EP at late 92 and an LP Marvin in March 93.

Their version of the song has not and will not be released in Australia; it's
only on the UK and US singles.

They have quite a few EPs out actually, as well as a mini-album on an indie
label and a brand new Australian single "Lonely" which includes a song
performed with Ween (!)
