Kicked out of San Francisco, Portland, MPLS (Babes in Toyland) and Olympia (inspiring a local band to name itself Courtney Love) by people she used, the typical way junkies use people. Invents background of being a stripper. Reality: she's an heir to the Bausch and Lomb fortune and blew her trust fund on drugs in less than ten years.Roddy Bottom turns gay after having her as a girlfriend.
Chased Julian Cope around the world. He would have nothing to do with her. Carries on being a super groupie. Was obsessed with Billy Corgan and followed him to Chicago. When rebuffed, headed to Cabaret Metro and latched onto Kurt. (This is well documented in Your Flesh from early 1992.)

1991
Like Dr. Eugene Landy, she convinced Kurt as he was freaking out over his Nevermind success that she was the only one he could trust, buffering him from the outside world while using him to get a hefty deal for her band. Got him hooked on junk immediately. Management and label go wrong by taking her in o placate him. Big Mistake. Hates Krist Novacelic's wife Shelly with a passion as she's still friends with Kurt's ex-g from Bikini Kill, driving a major wedge between former best friends Kris and Kurt that will never fully mend. Courtney gets pregnant, still a junkie.
1992
Courtney now is managed by Gold Mountain, on Nirvana's label and is represented by Danny Goldberg's (partner Goldmountain/co manger of Nirvana) wife Rosemary Carroll. Also booked by Nirvana's agency, Triad (now William Morris.) Marries Kurt. Craving notoriety, gives the interview of a lifetime to Vanity Fair that she only merits because she's Kurt's wife. This article is hastily whitewashed by DGC and Goldmountain as a pack of lies, that Kurt and Courtney only used drugs once for two weeks when Nirvana did SNL. She continues to use during the pregnancy. Several attempts are made to get Kurt and Courtney into a rehab facility and failing that, they are checked into hotels to cold turkey several times before Frances is born. Kurt is too fucked up to tour on Nevermind, hates his bandmembers. Does do some summer dates that Courtney comes along for, quite pregnant. Frances is finally born in August. Child welfare intervenes but the child is inexplicably returned to two addicted parents. Cedar Sinai confirms to LA
Times that the baby was born to an addicted mother. Courtney sues Cedar Sinai for leaking the information, not for the veracity of the story. Full time nanny Jackie quits to work for Hole/Nirvana manager Janet Billig. Kurt buries the hatchet with Eddie Vedder, a feud Courtney started with her constant comments to the press. Two British women write a muckracker account of Kurt and Courtney's relationship in the guise of a book about Nirvana. Hitting far too close to home, Courtney, Kurt and lawyers have the book squelched. Courtney assaults one of the women at Raji's in L.A. It goes to court but is pronounced a draw. to top the year off, Kurt, Courtney, Mark Arm and a Supersucker shoot up at Cobain's Four Seasons hotel room. Mark Arm turns blue and is carted off in an ambulance with Courtney screaming that this is going to make her lose her baby. The baby is present for this and many other drug episodes. This incident is kept out of the Seattle papers completely.
1993
Nirvana records In Utero. Courtney just can't keep away from Chicago and goes and causes an ugly, ugly scene. Almost gets Dave Grohl to quit this time. to paraphrase Steve Albini: "I could talk about what a psycobitch Kurt's married to but he already knows it..." The album is originally titled "I hate myself and want to die." Songs are re-mixed and title changed, not to mention taking that song off of it. K & C attempt to clean up a couple of times. May 2, Kurt OD's and Courtney shoots him up with buprenorphine to revive him and lies on the police report, saying she gave him a Valium. When Nirvana go to Australia, Courtney comes along. She's not allowed into New Zealand because of her record so she flew back to L.A. to score for her and Kurt before the band went to Japan where that would be impossible. During the summertime Kurt and Courtney get into a brawl in Seattle and when the cops come she said it was nothing but the neighbors harassing them and that nothing was wrong. Cops come back later to seize un
registered firearms, most of which belong to Dylan Carlson (more on him later). Band seem to be on good terms again, playing several Northwest benefits. Limited touring. Kurt on suicide watch a couple of times, small wonder he's doing heroin and Riopnol, a combination known to produce psychosis and suicidal tendencies. Courtney makes her album for DGC. Single stiffs in harp with Kurt on the cover as a child. Kurt produces Melvins album in San Francisco, nodding out all the while. They both continue to deny the junkie rumors. Kurt seems to be fine (cooperative) when she's not around, when she returns he backslides. Tad is chucked off Nirvana tour after Tad goes crazy on what a hag Courtney is to the press. Courtney punches out Tad's girlfriend in a bar when she laughs at Courtney's statement that she's the queen of punk.
1994
Hole tours with the Lemonheads. Evan Dando is a fellow narcotic abuser, crack smoker, Goldmountain artist and on a label run by Goldberg. Courtney is obsessed with him and teaches Frances that everytime she sees a picture of Evan to call him "Daddy." This drives Kurt nuts. rumors of an affair between the two persist but it's likely that she tried to fuck him and he wasn't into it. Hole leaves Lemonheads tour midway. In the middle of a crucial European Nirvana tour, Kurt OD's on 60 barbiturates and champagne. Leaves a sassed note. Frances is present. Kurt emerges from a coma apparently ok. When he wakes up to find Courtney at his bedside he passes her a note that says "Fuck you." she admits this in Melody Maker. Euro tour is canceled at GREAT expense and disappointment to the band. Management, record label and band members stage an intervention with both Kurt and Courtney to tell them to clean up or else. Kurt says he doesn't care if he lives or not. Police are called to the Seattle residence of the Cobains.
Courtney tells friends he beat her. She tells the police he suicidal. Kurt now despises her. Courtney moves into Chateau Marmont and takes Frances. Evan Dando lives at the Chateau Marmont.
These are very close to the actual dates things happened unlike what DGC and Goldmountain have led the public to believe: March 26 or 27 Kurt checks into Exodus drug treatment center in LA, leaves by the 29th. Returns to Seattle. Everyone knows he determined to commit suicide. Courtney OD's at Chateau Marmont Monday March 28th, Frances is present. Nanny calls paramedic. She's OK enough to talk to Robert Hilbun two days later, more lying for an L.A. Times cover story that appears two days after Kurt's death. She moves over to the Peninsula Hotel. Frances is remanded to Kurt's mom. Her and Kurt have split, Nirvana have split and are off Lollapalooza and no one seems to know where Kurt is. March 30 Kurt and Dylan C go into a gun store to buy Kurt a shotgun. Kurt's mother files a missing persons report in Washington saying he's escaped from and LA rehab and owns a shotgun and is suicidal. Goldmountain tells the Times he's having his famous health problems and not to listen to the rumors of Nirvana's split (April
6). BUT KURT IS ALREADY DEAD. (April 5). April 7, Courtney OD's again at the Peninsula and is arrested for heroin, a stolen pad of prescriptions and a syringe.
The walls are covered with blood and vomit. An unidentified male companion is with her. Could be Eric. Could be Evan. Courtney is checked into exodus when reports comes in that Kurt is dead. She's in a psyche ward and Exodus doesn't want her to leave when they find out that Kurt's body is found at 8:30am on April 8. Story is concocted that she was in UK doing press. The suicide note is not released to the press. It is apparently addressed to Frances Bean and makes reference to Courtney's affair with Evan, amongst other things. It goes on to note that she sucks everyone's dick in Hollywood but his... (Evan is thanked as "sweet Evan" on her record while Kurt is not even mentioned.) We will never see this suicide note in it's entirety. Courtney's statement to MTV totally betrays Kurt by saying his drug use had alienated his bandmembers and her. Shows up in person after the candlelight vigil totally wasted with Kat Bjelland (fellow user). Gives away his clothing after asking people Kurt trivia questions (or who
hates K Records?) She says she's never fucking anyone ever again, noting she's already fucked everyone on the West Coast anyhow. Hilburn's lies again appear on April 12 exonerating her of any blame. He tows the party line so bad he should be on the DGC payroll.
It needs to be told that Kurt was a week and susceptible person and she took advantage of the situation to further her own career ends, and to end his career. Frances Bean is a mere accessory that she has the slightest interest in. Kurt and Courtney's antics were constantly explained away by the label and management as nothing even though they were both junkies with an infant daughter. What Kurt needed was someone to care enough about him to shut him down (no tour, no records, no money) until he got the help he needed. Junk is not so much the problem as his chronic depression. Courtney had no interest in Kurt getting sober/well because that would remove her control. The tragedy is that someone so talented had no one who really cared about him, it it any wonder he didn't want to go on living?
That is the first crime, the second crime will be if Courtney Love becomes a martyr. Poor Mrs. Cobain, instead of the self-serving villain that she is. Her arrest story breaks the following Tuesday, once again she can't shut up and says the drugs the LAPD arrested her for were a "Buddhist love potion" and says a doctor left the pad in her hotel room. This has happened to me too! Poor Courtney! She trieshard to get a story written about her every day, finally A STAR. This will backfire very soon.
Riddle me this: why was she lounging around LA doing press while her husband was missing and more importantly, suicidal? Her claim that she got a private investigator to look himwas a lie. All she did was ask next door neighbor Peter Buck to knock on Kurt's door a couple of times a day. Lots of unsavory characters saw Kurt those last five days, he wasn't that hard to track down.
Also it was reported without a hint of irony that his best friend (and best man) Dylan Carlson from Earth, bought him a shotgun. At best Dylan is a white supremacist and a junkie loser. Would YOU buy your best friend (who tried to commit suicide three weeks earlier) a GUN? That should be a crime. In classic too little too late fasion, Sub Pop is starting a suicide hotline. Better they start by dropping Earth.
Krist and Dave need to tell the whole story now.
UPDATE:
Courtney spotted at Urge Overkill at the Viper Room wearing black and dancing, wasted. Danny Goldberg offers to adopt Frances Bean if she's taken away. Surprise, surprise, she completely skated on all charges. The weekend of Kurt's funeral she knew she was getting off. It certainly helps to have a well connected label owner, no?

Without proof, it is just woman-bashing not unlike that levelled against
Yoko Ono and Linda McCartney.
Kurt had his own problems and he was responsible for his decision. No
matter what she did or did not do, Courtney did not drive him to commit
suicide.
I don't particularly like her, and have heard enough "bad" stories about her
to believe this, but unless you can come up with hard evidence, it is
horrendous slander to her personally, and to women in general.
Take some responsibility for your own actions, guys. Us women are really
sick of being blamed for your actions.

has wasted their time in collecting together every single rumour there ever
was about Kurtney (as they were known over here).
I don't pretend to know the truth; it's impossible to know without being told
by the people concerned, or better still actually being there at the time.
Surely ANYTHING in the papers should not be believed, because it's not their
job to report the news, it's their job to sell papers. And that usually means
sensationalistic (sp?) rubbish. Stuff like "Rock Star Gives Birth To Junkie
Baby" are there for the sole purpose of selling papers.
Read the official Nirvana book; "Come As You Are" and then, when you've heard
the explainations to these rumours, you can see that quite obveously the press
wanted another Sid and Nancy
