Ticketmaster Disgrace

Ticketmaster are essentially legalised ticket scalpers. By
gaining a monopoly on an event allows them to charge exhorbitant
"convenience" fees. To add insult to injury, when I questioned
why the large surchages, the telephone operator boasted about
the money going straight in her pocket and they charge extra
because they can (due to the monopoly). This is disgraceful in
my opinion. BOYCOTT TICKETMASTER please folks if you agree.

I would love to boycott Ticketmaster...but are there any alternatives??
Especially in the Chicago area?

I've no idea how things are in your country but the last I heard they were
charging booking fees here even if you pay at the venue. These fees might
have been heavy at some times (I think 10 - 20% was standard) but there
wasn't an option. The agents tend to get exclusive rights for a lot of
events so there is no alternative. If you don't pay the fee you don't see
the show.
The question is - do the alternative agents charge the same kind of fees?
