Too much badluck surrounding Alice these days:
-suitcase full of precious tapes lost (then found) at the airport
-death of Renfield
-collapse of stage rigging in Russia
"Theatre of Death Tour" indeed.

It has been dead here for a long time. Good to hear from you though. I
was saddened to hear about Brian's death. I haven't been able to find
out anything about it but it is very sad.
Hopefully some people will begin writing again.

Personally I have a hard time forgiving the lazy writing on "wrapped in
silk":
I'll make that dream come true tonight,
Yes tonight,
Yes tonight,
Yes tonight,
Tonight's the night
It just sounds so... well, like a kid wrote it.
Some of the rest of the album is, a you say, great rock'n'roll but
,lyrically speaking, the serial killer concept dooms it to coming across
as an album that tries too hard to be Alice-esque

........I tend to agree. However, I could imagine writing dark lyrics
and songs for metal or hard rock, tend to get a little tougher at 62.
Your imagination's likely not quite what it used to be.
If I were writing songs at 62, they'd probably be titled "My aching
back"
"My aching knees" "Where's My Meds"
(lol) Not knocking Alice though, I hope he's still recording 5 years
from now.
A song titled "Where's My Meds" would be great. I can hear it now...
Where's my meds? Left for dead,
I'm just in a coma,
Don't leave me this way.
I'm normally mobile,
now movement is futile,
Please find my meds ... today!
Alice would do it justice...
