The internet is amazing! I just order Frida's "Djupa Andetag"
last Thursday and it's ALREADY here. Here's the review:

All I have to say is, WOW! When I first opened it, I looked at
all the cover art and the album sleeve, then I looked at the
multimedia portion of the CD-ROM. The first thing that came
to my mind was the impressive production quality of this
album. The photography and the design of the multimedia
elements are wonderful. This album has a definite "feel".
Appearances alone show an artist who has grown in amazing
strides since her last album.

I played the CD from first track to last and I liked all of them.
My favorite, however, was "Alla mina basta ar", the Marie
Fredrikson duet. If I had to choose a second, it would be
"Aven en blomma" not only for the song itself, but for the
beautiful video that accompanied it. Frida is a TRUE diva! How
amazing does this woman look??? She looks fab and sounds
even fabber! I don't think her voice has really changed all that
much since her last album or ABBA for that matter. Alot of
people had said that her voice had a "huskier" quality, but I
didn't really hear that. What I did hear was very soothing tones
in nearly every song. I was totally relaxed listening to that
amazing voice.

Overall, I was impressed by the different styles that I heard.
Some of it sounded Scandinavian. I also heard some folk
sound and even, what I thought was a Caribbean or Jamaican
influence in "Vem kommer sara vem ikvall". Am I right? I
thought the whole album design had somewhat of a Caribbean
feel. Does anyone else agree or am I way off? I'm not a music
expert by any means, but I could swear... ;-)

I have a feeling that I'll grow to like this even more as I continue
to listen. Definite 5 out of 5! WELL DONE FRIDA! You're an
amazing woman. It's been 4 years and if you're going to produce
this kind of quality material, then 4 years is way too long.

The only bad thing about this is that I don't understand Swedish,
but that's my problem...has NOTHING to do with this wonderful
album.

I have ordered it too on the internet but haven't recieved it yet. I
wonder if she would ever consider re recording the vocals in English
like Abba did with the Spanish versions?
I hope so, it would be a good way to have the best of both

amazon.com. It's still available commercially, so you should
have no problems finding it.

Lilly, it's one of the best albums I've ever heard! I love it more
every time I hear it. I think this is DEFINATELY Frida's best
post-ABBA solo album. I can't speak for the best of both of
the girls because I don't have any of Agnetha's solo stuff, but
I suspect that "Djupa" would outdo them. It's a very mature
sound and a wonderfully diverse album. I only wish that Frida's
duet in "Alksa mina basta ar" had been with Agnetha. Don't
get me wrong, Marie Fredrikson was wonderful but I kept thinking
how great it would be to hear Agnetha and Frida sing together
again in a more modern-sounding song. To dream...

Hi!

I'm sure this has been posted before, but just in case... here are the song
titles from Djupa andetag in english:

1. Love me forever
2. The eyes
3. Even a flower
4. Bedroom
5. She got what she wanted
6. All my best years
7. Calm waters
8. Who will hurt who tonight
9. The last waltz with you
10. Women who run

And here's a translation of the first song. Don't expect any poetic qualities!!
This is a "word by word" translation, more or less. Just to give you an idea of
what the song is about.

I Want Everything -

I want everything
I want more
A breath from your soul
As close as your hand can get
You touch me and care for me
I dance with abandon
I'm obsessed by (with?) the fire you've lighted

Love me forever
Don't ever leave me
Love me forever
Don't ever leave me
Ever again

Tonight the moon is upside-down
The demons are here with me
They demand more the more I give
And I never get enough of you
You touch me without words tonight
I'm obsessed by (with) the fire you've lighted

Hi,

You're right! "Djupa andetag" is really best Frida's album.
I have all Agnetha's and Frida's post-ABBA albums and as for me "Djupa" is
also best in solo carier of ABBA-Woman.
And I read that Frida asked Agnetha to sing "alla mina basta ar" with her,
but Agnetha declined.

Best

I have all the girls post ABBA albums and this is definately the best
.....(no offense to any ANNA armada fans out there and yes i am biased
....but it is such a great pure pop album)
The more you hear it hon....the more you will just fall inlove with it
.......and i find myself sing sections in Swedish that I have heard over and
over .......it actually for me transcends the language barrier because it's
melodies are beautiful and her voice is as fantastic as ever..

cheers

I have to admit that I would LOVE Agnetha to release an album similar
in style to "Djupa..." At least I hope any new album will be in
Swedish.....I reckon Agnetha's native tongue suits her voice better
myself.

For me, Agnetha's best solo effort was the album "Elva Kvinnor i ett
hus"......which obviously sounds rather dated now...and cannot fairly
be compared to "Djupa...".

Cheers,

Ingrid...thank you!! If this has been posted, I've missed it so
I really appreciate you taking the time to type all that out
for me. I'm going to save a copy of this message. I know
there's a website with lyric tranlsations for all the songs, but
I don't have it...can anyone help?

Many many thanks!

Is this true?? If so, that's disappointing. They would have sounded
terrific together on this one. I think it has an ABBA-ish quality, but
still a 90's sound. I think that Marie Fredrikson sounds alot like
Agnetha, actually.

Me too. Although, I don't understand a word! ;-) You're also
correct about the language barrier. Honestly, that's why I didn't
buy the album earlier. I thought that I would have a hard time
liking something that I couldn't understand. However, it's just
the reverse. I bought "ABBA Oro" a few months ago and have
really been enjoying the Spanish versions of ABBA songs (can
even sing along with a couple of them thank you very much.) I
think that's what FINALLY made me decide to take the plunge.
Well, that and everyone's raves about "Djupa". I certainly have
not been disappointed.

Agreed. I love Elve Kvinnor.... I like the idea behind it and some of the
tracks are standout: SOS (of course!), Tack för en underbar vänlig dag, Mina
Ögon, and the wonderful Visa i Attonde Manaden.

Heaven. Just goes to show you what both are capable of....

Fantastic i am so chuffed you like it ...I love all ABBA non english
stuff....for some reason it sounds just so sweet in say Spanish or their
native tongue

Do you love Frida on "Ensam" doing "Send in the clowns" ???? it would break
Barbra's heart to listen to (Streisand I mean)
