Glasgow. (City in Scotland, probably chosen for the rhyme and no other
reason.)

Glasgow (the capital of Scotland).

It is definately Glasgow and I think the reason why Glasgow is mentioned is
according to Bjorn one of the last dates if not the last that they played in
the UK during their '79 Tour.

I believe this was mentioned in the Documentary 'The Winner Takes It All'.

Actually, Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, but Glasgow is larger.

Nah, it's gotta definitely be Tesco, cos that's what most people here seem
to mis-hear it as. Yet another of those little jokes from B&B wanting us to
think that it really was a Scottish city.

They did the same thing with Gemini's TLC, printing the lyrics as "golden
clown" when it's patently obvious that it's "Goddamn clown".

BTW, what's a Tesco?

Maybe the song was dedicated to Elvis.

Perhaps Micke Tretow was having a little fun with us all;-)

Hi. I was browsing my alt.music e-mail and found your query about the Super Trouper lyric. The missing word is Glasgow. Like in Scotland. Signed, Old Abba Fan. I though you'd ask what a super trouper is.
I'd like to know what it means, is it a misspelling? Or is it me sitting
here with the famous blue groin of death?

A SuperTrouper is a giant light .like they use in stadiums for concerts or
at the circus, hence
"superTrouper ..beams are gonna blind me..."

Ah! the delight! How silly of me to think that any ABBA song would be called
Super trooper =).
Too much C++ perhaps(getting dizzy).
Thanks Lilly

In 1973 Deep Purple had another song with the title Super Trouper, it is on
the album Who Do We Think We Are.

Ummm... well, actually, it's not the capital of Scotland. The capital

LOL. Nice to know that I am not the only one who mishears the lyrics. I
posted a scavenger hunt quiz about a year ago, One of the things you had to
find in an Abba song was a "fantasy car". This stumped a few people, one
person asked "Are you mishearing the line from "So Long" and sure enough, it
was "FANCY car"

Growing up in Yakima, Washington State, USA, I always heard it as "Pasco", the name of a nearby agricultural town of about (then) 20,000. I wondered then if there was some other, better known Pasco.

I've always heard "Glasgow".
