ANNI-FRID WATCHED BY HIS SIDE

*The ABBA-star's husband dead after long time disease*

Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 53, is mourning. The night between Friday and
Saturday her husband since many years, the Italian prince Ruzzo Reuss,
49, died.
Anni-Frid was present by her husband's deathbed in the family house in
Sweden.

Ruzzo Reuss died after being sick for a long time.

-He died in their house here in Sweden. Anni-Frid and the rest of the
family was by his side, confirms Görel Hanser, close friend of the
family.

For the persons closest to the family the news of his death comes as
no surprise. The illness of Ruzzo Reuss is said to be the reason for
the couple wanting to sell their palace-like home in Rechtalen outside
Fribourg in Switzerland.

The couple has access to other houses, in Puerto Andraitx on Mallorca
and in Swedish Trosa, to name two.

*Father was a German soldier*

Anni-Frid Lyngstad's life has sometimes been described as that of a
Princess; from the pop success of a lifetime with ABBA to the life as
lady of the palace in the Alps. But her life hasn't always been that
easy.

She was born in Narvik, Norway in 1945. Her father was a German
soldier and her mother died when "Frida" was only two years old.

To avoid for the child to be called a "German child" her grandmother
brought her to Sweden and Eskilstuna.

*The daughter died in car accident*

As close as March 1998, Frida's daughter Lise-Lotte Casper died in a
car crash in USA. She was only to become 30 years old.

Lise-Lotte and her brother Hans, who lives in the Trosa area, are the
result of Frida's first marriage to the carpet salesman Ragnar
Fredriksson of Eskilstuna.

Ruzzo Reuss was Anni-Frid's third husband, whom she met after the
split up with Benny Andersson. Anni-Frid saw her Prince for the first
time in 1984 when she was living in Zurich. Two years later they moved
in together.

The couple got married in the church of Hörsholm outside Copenhagen in
Denmark in 1992.

At the ceremony only the closest where present.

*Lived country life*

Anni-Frid and Ruzzo Reuss lived most of their life together quietly,
far from a public life.

In Switzerland the couple lived a life of tranquillity. This is how
Anni-Frid described her life in an interview in 1996:

-It's so easy so you can't imagine. My husband Ruzzo's Prince title is
an inherited one. We lead the typical country life. Ruzzo works as a
golf course architect. I walking around in jeans and thick oversocks,
working in the garden, with my lavender, potatoes and onions.

But the couple didn't always stay at the farm. They where frequent
guests at the St Leonard stadium when the hockey team of Fribourg was
playing.

Anni-Frid and Ruzzo Reuss didn't have any children together, but the
Prince is leaving a twin daughter couple.

Ruzzo Reuss had strong connections to Sweden way before he met
Anni-Frid. In his youth he studied at the boarding school of
Lundsberg, together with among others King Carl XVI Gustaf. [of course
Carl Gustaf was "prince" at the time; transl note]

*Friends with the King*

The two became close friends. Prince Reuss and King Carl Gustaf was
inter alia hunting together. Anni-Frid Lyngstad thus became good
friends with Queen Silvia.

In the beginning of next year Anni-Frid was to make a comeback and
release a solo-CD.

If those plans are affected by the death of Ruzzo Reuss is as of yet
unknown.

Mein Beileid Frida

Liebe Frida,

That is true! Life is cruel but unjust. Frida, who has given happiness
to so much people, now suffers from that misfortune, within two years
she has lost her daughter and her husband.
However, I want to assure, that thousends (or millions) of her fans
are with Frida in her sorrow.
