Hi all

Being unemployed is hell! I've got way too much time to spend in the studio.
And as a result, the latest 'Don't Care' is up at
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/amityhop_music.htm

It's a big 138bpm ska-rocker with a weird middle 8 (see if you can keep time
with the snare), lots of horns, big surf/fistful of dollars guitar, really
tight rhythm section (so tight that you'll need lubricant just to listen)
and more.

If you can't dance to this then... you're an amputee.

And a big thank you to Kraig for the Gong of Doom.

If you listen carefully you'll find 26 audio tracks in there. Not all at
once, natch.

Just one extra thing. See if you can keep time with the middle 8....

Paul -

Nice job. Sounds big and bold and very elastic. Seemed a little bright
to me at first, but that is probably an mp3-encoding thang.

No problems with the middle 8 here, but the final 17 glaring back at
the middle 6 reminded me that the opening 2 still owed me money for
lunch last Thursday!

Party on, Garth.

Nice tune, bouncy.

Damn, I can't get a signal like that . . . what kind of gear are you
using?

Maybe this SBLive! has to go soon . . . . I just can't push it
without it breaking up.

Maybe I shouldn't have parted with that Delta44 I had a few years ago,
but at the time I didn't have a mixer, monitors, or decent mics.

Anyone have an MAudio2496? Where is the site that had all the sound
card reviews?

The 2496 is not bad at all. If you never need more than 4 channels
simultaneously (2 digital / 2 analog), it's a great buy, IMO -- it also has
MIDI i/o if that's something you need. I've used one for a year and a half
now, along with Samplitude Master 5.9 for the final mixdown & mastering of
projects. No problems at all. All the M-Audio stuff can work together as
well; if you need expansion, you can drop in another M-Audio card of your
chosen variety, and they're supposed to play together and sync up the
internal clocks, etc, automatically. Although I've not used this feature
yet. YMMV, although I do like the card.
