Hey guys, I've HAD IT! I'm not getting JACK SHIT doen with my setup. My
studio is totally un-ergonomic, and the fucking computer is miles from the
recorder/speakers etc. AND MY PRODUCTIVITY IS ZERO! With thsi current setup I
got a couple recordings done but it was more hassle than it should've been.
THATS IT! Time to clean up this place, and get things wired up so that they
STAY wired up, and to strap this monitor between my speakers, and get back to
work. Still dont know where to put my damn synth (I like having speakers facing
me and the keyboard while sequencing...) Having one ear pointed at the Reveals
ends up making that ear all cloudy while the other is still fresh. its better
to have equal fatigue on both sides (not that the Reveals are heavy on fatugue,
quite the opposite)

FY*@TD*(&@GD& I JUST NEED TO GET MY BUT OFF THE FLOOR AND GET THESE DEMOS
OUT THE DOOR!

I NEED SOME GODDAMN DECENT HEADPHONES! My monitoring is SO BAD, that I
cant record a damn guitar overdub comfortably, let alone VOCALS! I'm using
crappy walkman headphones with a spliced cor held together with TAPE! WHAT IS
THAT SHIT!

WHAT IS THE CLOSEST, FASTEST CHEAPEST phones I can get. Radio Trash got any
decent current models? I need some decent phones FAST without breaking my bank
*(speaking of which I HAVE NO BANK, so if I told you you are getting one of my
CD's soon, well, sorry, not until I have some fucking money for some blank
CD's, let alone a goddamn batch run at a plant)

CHRIST DIVIN MUFF SNIFFIN CRAP DICK!

I can't sing in fucking tune with these damn phones. They are harsh... I
need more isolation. They are just too open. I can't hear myself. So I sing too
loud. Dick lick. Louder, more out of tune, worse. Crappy. Decent phones,
please, NOW I have JUST ENOUGH in my budget (I'm going halfway around the world
soon so I gotta budget for that) to score some cheap ass value "whats the best
assphoens under ____$" type shit. Lay it on me. I dont feel like ordering shit.
I am too damn tired every night after work to do shit other than sit around and
THINK about what Im going to get done, only to fall asleep "Oh ill do it
tommorow I gueesss "" ZZZZzzzzzz work TOMMOROW! Fuck, more endless hours of
crap in the sun. The sun will suck all the poop from you and you will not be
able to do SHIT when you get home.

SAVEEEEE MEEE! I dont think I deserve to rot away in obscurity forever
sjust because of stupid little factors.

^*D%R*^@FDY SOMEONE CLEAN THIS SHITHOLE UP FOR ME! I neded another 1/4
cord, and I need some goddamn SHELVES to hold these fucking CD's. And I need to
back this crap up so I have some more space. Im going back to using the Roland.
Fuck computer-based DAW shit. its a good way to get alot oNOTHIGN done. FUCK
THAT, ONLY FOR MIDI LIKE THE OLD DAYS! FINE BITCHES, GOOD WINE, TIGHT MIDI, Hot
stuff.

BUT THIS BITCHES HARD DRIVE is filled to capacity! I need to backk all this
shit up (some of it is already) and erase the whole bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!
FUCK THIS! I need to have a blank canvas and getROCKING!

Anyone know If I can sync my 880EX with a digital audio sequencer on a
computer? That would be nice, that way I could just use plug ins and shit on
the rare track that needs it, and not deal with teh fact that I have no HARD
DRIVE SPACE on this computer because it's all filled up with fucking ORCHESTRAL
SAMPKLES and a fucking massive multisampled OBOE PATCDH F(#&*(#&*GFU(WFGWF and
20 version of the same drum kit, im afraid to tyrash the old version as I
refine It.

FUCK I SUFFER FROM TWEAKER-ITIS I WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING DONE AFTER SPENDING
ALL MY MOMNEY ON THIS CRAP FOR YEARS! TIME TO GET WITH TEH PROGRAM HANS!

HELP ME PLEASE I AM CRYING HER, I AM Dying my life is gfalling apart I
feel like lead weight breathing bleach mist all day in the fucking 2000 degree
heat, and stupid hot mexican bitches distracting me when I just want to get the
job done. OK?!?!?!?

Go get some cheap ass'd Sony Digital headphones at Best Buy for like $30. I
tried them for the fun of it once and they weren't bad. Loud as hell though.
DO IT COCKSUCKER!

I agree. Not sure if Rat shack has any more decent headphones (you might
find some old Pro-25's that they might still have in stock if you're lucky)
but those are open eared. The best luck with tracking that I've had is
with cheap Sony CD-30 headphones. I don't know if they still make the
CD-30's but I've seen CD-60's for sale. They might sound similar. I
noticed that with those I had fewer pitch problems then when I track with
other headphones for some reason.

Motherflippin' snotsuckin' SONY makes a fishin' good series
called MDR. Shove a pair of MDR-V500DJ on your poor excuse
for a cranium and start blowing your eardrums together :-)

Sony MDRs are good. I have MDR-V600, very nice closed phones, real good
for vocal work, just keep the level reasonable and roll off the bass a
tad to stay in tune when tracking voice.

knud - i know exactly how you feel. i record a lot of partials but never
FINISH anything i like, if/when i get time to work on stuff it feels
forced.....and I, like you, have invested A LOT in this hobby. anyway, for
phones i picked up a $40 pair at best buy, they are called AIWA HP-x222.
they are the big ass closed ear kind. I like them, but have noticed treble
doesn't cut thru as well as they do on other pairs so i always double check
my mixes with cheesey walkman headphones after just for refrence. the car
stereo test is always pimp. anyway, i feel your pain.

Try a stereo TV for monitoring. Mine translates the bass insanely well to
just about every stereo I've tried my mixes on. Its amazing how much more
professional a home studio demo can sound when you get the perfect levels
for the vocals and bass...

I agree Nick! And those are the area's I have the hardest time being
satisfied with. I've listened to a lot of demo's lately from other artists.
And it seems the demos rely heavily on vocal and guitar. The drums and bass
are after thoughts. I bought an Avalon DI and I think it really helps. It
definitely was a great investment I think. The missing link for me at this
moment.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I switched from AKG 240M's to the Sony MDR
7506's and like them much better. The fact that they are always folded up
gets on my nerves though. So does the cord. Outside that, I like the way the
low end sounds on them. I mix a lot better on them compared to the AKG's.

Guys, I am not going to MIX on the damn phones. I've got monitors, and
mixing on phones is something I never wish to repeat after being stuck with it
so many years on 4-track cassette. I just need phones for tracking... Thanks
for all your suggestions I'm going out today to hunt for some nice phones.
