I've never done it, but if your drum machine has no reverb, then why
not? Do it, and if it sounds better, then great! It's a great method
for putting your drums in a sonic "space". I don't know if this will
make it warmer -- maybe you are referring to using a darker reverb?
When I had a four-track and not much else, we regularly ran signals
through almost anything to get desired results -- stompbox compressors,
delays, distortion pedals -- you name it. Even guitar/P.A. amp
reverbs. When you are able to afford better equipment, you will already
have the fundamentals down.

As with all 4-track recording, my motto is "if you got it, use it." That
includes the kitchen sink. Well, OK... the bathroom sink... for reverb, that
is.
Try running your drum machine through d-delay and fool around with the time
and dry/delay mix settings for all kinds of weird rythms.

sure, works fine as long as there isn't much hiss in the pedal.
if you're really brave, run the drum machine through a guitar amp;
you'll get EQ, distortion (great on a drum machine!) and reverb. you
can mic the amp and the room and get all kinds of cool "warmth". i do
it all the time... :) just watch the volume on those deep kick drums -
don't want to blow your speakers.
