Is this like that tv show they keep showing ads for...
where the judges are sitting there saying horrid things to people who are
singing acapella?

Sort of a comibination of Jerry Springer, et al, and Dr. Frankenstien..
"Now Igor, we'll make our ouuuuwwwnnnn Britney Spears. Hand me the saline
bags! No No No, not the ones with personality, you idiot!"

A great vocalist isn't just someone who can hit pitch, or shake their ass...
a great vocalist ought to have taste, and some sense of purpose, as well as
integrity.

What does it appear that tv show is grooming when you see the ads?
Someone anyone in here could possibly care about?
Or just another whore?

I find it ironic that one of the judges is the Queen of the no-talent,
tone-deaf -- Paula Abdul.

Her talent may well not be singing, but no-talent? She's taught half of
the stage performers who dance how to do it and choreographed for most
of the rest. I'd be real happy with that little talent.

I know what you mean.
I can hardly finish writing a song until I've got all the dance steps worked
out.

Yeah I agree...it's easy to make fun of those people if we don't like their
music or the shady business behind it, but you have to give credit where
credit is due.

By the way... what ever happened to Debbie Gibson. Wasn't it her that had
that line of perfume called "Electric Youth" I LOVED the smell of that
stuff....gave me wood every time I smelled that....musta had pheremones in
it or something. LOL!

Actually, Paula's last album, Vibeology was really good from a songwriting perspecive. Some real
interesting stuff on there. Same as the Like A Prayer album Madonna released in 89. She wrote and
produced most of it. It's interesting to watch these artists mature after the original dance fluff
gets out of their systems. You might not like it, but you will never achieve 1% of the commercial
music accomplishments she did. Not trashing you, but it is true.

On a side note, the link to Mp3.com in the original post (regarding submitting songs for the
show)...... those songs are horrendously crappy. None of those songs would even be considered for
the IDOLS show. I have songs like the ones that were submitted and I would not even consider
sending those. These songwriters are completely out of touch with today's radio hits, which is what
they are looking for.
