Hrielith is looking for a few (4) builders/gms of high caliber to
join our fledgling MU* project. We are building a text-based, mudlike
roleplaying environment that is original and fantasy-themed. Our goal
is to create a small, committed team of role-playing fantasists who
are interested in creating and inhabiting an elaborate text-based
fantasy-world.
We are looking for experienced builders, and are especially seeking
those who can create complex tapestries of theme that connect various
elements of plot in the realm. Madly quiet tinkerers (who can work in a
team environment) and women are especially encouraged to check us out.
We will also have areas which are totally outside the 'established'
plot and themes, accessible through special commands - so there is
space for innovative and totally non-frp building.
We would really welcome hearing from anyone who has two to four
hours per week (or more) that they'd be willing to commit to our
project. Feel free to stop by, and send us email with questions, etc.
Send mail to: orchaeus #@# organelle.org. Remove spaces and #'s.
If you're serious, and interested, give us a shot - take time to
actually connect with us online - you won't be disappointed.
Thanks!

Arbitrary Q & A:
Q: Great, there are a thousand muds like yours - why should I build for
you?
A: You shouldn't. Why? Because if you're building 'for' someone else,
well, it's usually just not fulfilling. We want to create an
environment that encourages supportive, literate play - and a community
of like-minded folk. If you're interested, come talk to us.
We're small, and that makes it easy for us to innovate. There probably,
in truth, aren't that many muds like ours at all - though we share a
lot
conceptually, and perhaps command-wise with some existing muds.
Q: Muds are just an addiction. They make people isolate, at best
they're for geeks.
A: Well, people who isolate, isolate into muds - it's true. But muds
can also be amazingly vital social environments. We are mud activists -
we don't buy the harm-hype. We'll build something vibrant, alive, and
psychically nourishing
to experience.
Q: I want to stop by and spend two hours pointing out everything you've
done wrong.
A: Great, we're available for this on the 5th Sunday of every month.
Q: What's in it for me?
A: We're all volunteers, so we care about what we're doing or we
wouldn't spend time at it. We learn together, play together and
basically form a small society. We encourage and support each other,
while building a mystery...so what's in it for all of us is the
experience of creating something from whole cloth - and shaping it with
our imaginations, together, to share with those who may appreciate
such things...
Q: Yeah, well I built a (bazillion) areas on (everquest, UO,
gabblethrippy) and it didn't make me feel better and wasn't fun.
A: Come build one or two areas for us, and see if you don't feel like
you're on a vacation in the bahamas. If you don't - go take one...it's
warm and there are really wierd tourists everywhere. On the other hand,
if you DO happen to feel
that good, well, at least be kind enough to hold us responsible...
