Actually, it was the British who lost WWII. They had an empire of
40M sq km, and a strong currency, at the start of the war. Germany
was the strongest economy in Europe (as Japan was in Asia). Look
at the outcome. Germany and Japan unchanged. The British lost all.

Actually Holland would have to be the best in europe for it's size. Not a
much bigger that wales, a pop of only 15 million and still produces many of
the worlds best footballers - that is until the fighting Irish got their
hands on them and dished out yet another spanking to a supposedly superior
fotballing side, as they did to England on a couple of occasions! :o)
