I am trying to get Arachne browser configured under MSDOS6.22 running
under Virtual PC 2007.

DOS has virtual additions installed and Arachne installed OK too.
When I try to configure for a LAN network using the Arachne wizard I get
an incorrect packet driver message. I have downloaded the DC21x4 packet
driver from Crynwyr which I am assuming is the correct one to match the
virtual NIC provided by Virtual PC.
Unfortunately I have not been successful in installing the packet
driver. The Readme is a bit vague and assumes I have more knowledge
about this stuff than I do.
Can anybody spell it out for me with a simple example?
I have enclosed the README below which seems simple enough yet I don't
seem to be getting it right.
The file referred to can only be DC21X4PK.ASM being the only one with
that name.
The driver package contains 76 files including DC.COM (The only COM
file). I am also assuming all these files are not required although I
did copy them all across at one stage.

You just need DC.COM.

Thank you Robert. At last I have Arachne browser working smoothly and my
pop email is also fully functional.
I have struggled with this packet browser thing for weeks and been so
near yet so far.
It is a great accomplishment for me to finally have a DOS internet setup
working.
Thanks again
