Hi All,

I am using W98SE which has DOS 7+.
I would like to learn more about 'basic' DOS and would like
to obtain *dosshell*. As I understand it, dosshell was only
distributed with v5.0-6.0.

Where can I download etc dosshell for my current version, or,
where can I obtain a version of DOS 5 or 6?

Thanks,
Chris.

»Hi All,

Dosshell is available for easy installation on the MS-DOS supplemental disk for
MS-DOS 6.22 and is useable with DOS 7+ running in full MS-DOS mode (from the
command prompt). You can get the supplemental disk by downloading from
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/peropsys/msdos/public/supplmnt/

The file to download is named SUP622.EXE (it's 762K).

I sent you the dosshell before reading your post. The dosshell is only
good for DOS through DOS 6.22

I installed it on two computers, one with W95 the other with W98SE,
and both work fine, that is in *true* DOS Mode, not in a window.

Thanks,
Chris.

Later editions of DOSSHELL are not version-sensitive. It doesn't look for the
DOS version when installed or run.
