I usually set my time keeping devices by Timo's FAQ. :)

Did I miss something?

It was missed here yesterday too.

You haven't posted anything in a while; maybe he thought
you didn't need it anymore.

Frank, it doesn't matter whether I need it or not. When I paid foxidrive
for my subscription to A.M.B.nt I was told that I would have unlimited
posting rights plus a batch file FAQ each week. Now, three weeks into my
fully paid subscription I'm missing a FAQ. I'm thinking of asking for a
full refund.

:)

Sorry, this is not some sort of asterisk free newsgroup that just gives
refunds willey-nilley. Read the latest official FAQ carefully and
completely for instructions on how to apply for a refund request and
pass certain eligibility requirements.

You did read the entire FAQ, right?

:)

Willey-nilley indeed. Todd, you are not paying attention to my post.
Two weeks is not enough time to read 185 questions and answers found in
the text FAQ plus 189 questions and answers in the HTML version. Are you
starting to see my problem?

Anyway, forget it. Foxidrive said I could upgrade my Executive
subscription to Professional for a small addition fee. Foxidrive also
told me that the Pro version comes with a 20% discount on Thunderbird
and two Gmail accounts at half the regular monthly rate, plus I can
download the FAQ for a one time additional charge.

I think I'll just get the upgrade and be done with this
thread! :)

I'll even throw in a pristine copy of Timo's FAQ, when he fixes his cron clock and posts the next copy!

No, but I did. The server that automatically posts the FAQ has been
down. I failed to notice the omission, since I do not frequent the group
nearly as much as I used to. The server does not invoke missed events
afterwards. I now called the cron manually for this time.

All the best, Timo

It will be a sad day if Timo's FAQ collections are lost to the internet. You wouldn't know it to read
here but there are scads of posts from new batchers at other places and there is no doubt that your FAQ
list will be of use to many people in the future. They teach batch scripting in courses these days, and
there are even some questions on legacy equipment

I hope your interest remains for at least another few decades :)

Cheers

My FAQ collection, which is located on a private server, is not
currently at risk. It is the crontab that autoposts the pointer from the
university (where I am retired from) that might.

Thank you sir! Everything is copacetic.

Later.

Perhaps some adept expert could write and run a CRON job for an
independent system that looks for the FAQ pointer article a day after it
should have appeared, and posts an ersatz version, bcc. Timo, if it did
not appear.
