I can't agree with you because you haven't really left anything to agree
with. Perhaps something like "Morgan Freeman's emotion was captivating"
or "The visual images were astounding", then maybe I can agree with you.

But what's the point of me agreeing that Shawshank is _your_ favorite
movie... I don't think _anybody_ can disagree with that...

The Shawshank Redemption isn't my favorite movie (I have too many favorites
already) but I agree it's a good one. Very uplifting. I've been looking for a
s/h copy for a long time. I never read the book -- is it similar to the movie?

Hee hee hee hee...

Anyway.... I do have one thing to say about it... I keep getting a kick
out of people's faces when they discover Stephen King wrote it... It's
almost as much fun as pointing out Tim Curry in Legend...

I just saw it; it is a good film. Not too many plot holes, and yes, I
was surprised that it was based on a Stephen King novel; I've never
read any.

I loved this movie. I am suprised so that so many critics liked it
because my experience is that critics dislike films with happy endings.
They tend to like films with unhappy endings like Seven. That's just
my opion. Anyway, I loved it.

Sorry, but the story is called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshanj Redenption".
The book is called "Four Seasons" and also contains the stories that were
the base to two other movies, that i forgot the name...

This was a great movie but I think it would done much better at the box
office had the title been shortened to either "Shawshank" or
"Redemption".

It was shortened. you know the original title was Rita Hayworth and the
Shawshank Redemption.
It's in Stephen King's Four Seasons. Great book. It also has the story that
Stand By Me was based upon.

Do you know that "The Green Mile" which comes out this coming Friday has the
same director as Shawshank? And also from a Stephen King book? They say that
producer Spielberg cried four times at the final screening of the movie.

I can't wait.

Didn't Spielberg also say that The Phantom Menace was the most exciting
two hours of his life? Does he have a press agent waiting outside the
screening room?

Lucas and Spielberg have been friends for a long time... both of them
have used John Williams rather consistently, also Frank Oz was
recommended to Lucas by Spielburg. As well, they worked very well
together in all of the Indiana Jones movies IMO. It would only make
sense that Spielberg would give a good review of his friends' final
work...

I'm not saying he's lying either. Maybe he did find it very exciting.
Nobody knows for sure...

Am I the only person on the planet that's noticed the fact that "Green
Mile" is pretty much just a three hour remake of the "Amazing Stories
V" episode that starred Patrick Swayze?

Killer on death row magically heals people. I'm having a hard time
dealing with the obvious plagerism.

Have you read King's book? The premise might be similar, but the stories
are very different -- suggesting that one plagarizes the other is about as
much of a stretch as saying "RoboCop" plagarizes "The Terminator", since
both films involve unstoppable cyborgs.
