I am a small fan of Luc Besson's movies and particularly his The Fifth
Element, but haven't been able to find out why Sir Ian Holm, who plays
the Priest Cornelius, sports a painful looking left-eye injury in his
first scenes in the President's Chambers? This is abscent is subsequent
scenes. Would anyone on the inside know how poor old Sir Ian nearly lost
an eye?

no idea mate.
It doesnt seem like a big deal. It wasnt really mentioned in his bio
which i guess is the place to start with kind of stuff. All the
promotional close ups of ian as vito conrelius have him sporting the
bloodshot eye. Maybe he had one major major major drinking binge.
