Your polemic I was answering suggested that I was a frustrated writer. My
e-mail to you (which was off-line, and therefore by Usenet convention not
intended for public consumption) was to correct your misapprehension. Since
you took it upon yourself publicly to impugn my intelligence, I thought I
would document it for you.

For the record: I do not feel superior to everyone else here. What I feel is
not the legitimate subject of a newsgroup discussion.

I am bored to death with your pointless ad hominem postings.

You can dish it out, but you can't take it? You've attacked people for
their grammar, spelling, punctuation and intelligence so much that it makes
me want to puke. THOSE are ad hominem attacks, and you love them because
they are the only way you can go after people who see you for what you are.
Certainly you cannot reply with remarks of any substance, because you KNOW
you are not here to educate. Education is done gently, not with the IN YOUR
FACE style which you've adopted. You don't even reply to newbies' simple
questions because you are so driven to be vicious. You give nasty responses
and then later feign that you were using tongue in cheek humor. There is
nothing humorous about you; as I said in another ng, it's not tongue in
cheek, it's the corncob up your ass. You are a troll. Period.

So next time someone uses an ad hominem attack against you, after all you've
given others, don't you think it's time to shut up and take it?

Dish out what? Infantile name-calling? I believe (no, I am CERTAIN) that you
are incorrect.

You've attacked people for
> their grammar, spelling, punctuation and intelligence so much that it

> me want to puke.

What I have said is that people who can't compose, punctuate, and spell have
a harder time convincing me of the merit of their ideas than those who can.
Don't people of lesser intelligence saying inane things annoy you? Well,
imagine how *I* feel! Don't those WebTV users who are too lazy to capitalize
the first letter of a sentence, or put a space after a comma or period, make
you squint to figure out what the hell they mean?

THOSE are ad hominem attacks, and you love them because
> they are the only way you can go after people who see you for what you

No, they're not. Ad hominem is directed at the person, not the person's
abilities (or lack of them) in context. For example, if I said your notion
of Cameron's economy of style is wrong because you're a sanctimonious twit,
that would be ad hominem. But if I merely said that I don't think you are
capable of writing a cohesive paragraph with a thesis and appropriate
exposition, that would simply be an analysis of your writing ability.

Education is done gently, not with the IN YOUR
> FACE style which you've adopted. You don't even reply to newbies' simple

I give thoughtful answers to thoughtful questions, to the best of my
ability, and absurd answers to absurd questions. It's a matter of style with
me. If you can find an example to the contrary, please do not hesitate to
present it. So far, the people who have made extravagant claims about what I
do are batting .000 in the proof department.

You give nasty responses
> and then later feign that you were using tongue in cheek humor. There is

Your subtlety in the art of simile is unparalleled.

See above. Please notice that I have never called anyone names, nor have I
suggested they anyone has foreign objects in their bodily orifices. Your
suggestion that I "shut up and take it" is duly ignored, as you have not
developed your case with any real facts.

See? Everytime you can't reply with substance or games, you just avoid the
subject. You've been found out, Tom. These silly responses just prove you
have nowhere to go with your garbage. Troll. At least you don't deny it.

Tom, no matter how you try to argue your "case," the truth of the matter is
that you can't rewrite definitions, nor are you the final authority of what
constitutes proof. Hide behind more games. Everyone else knows what you
are, whether you believe it or not.

All you do is call names and hurl insults.

When did reasoned responses to your preposterous allegations constitute

Listen, Tom....I have an Associates Degree and work as a Secretary, so I
DO KNOW correct punctuation and spelling. I am also human and make
mistakes. Lots of times I have a baby on my lap while typing and get
bumped, resulting in a typo.

This is ANOTHER example of your rude and unnecessary comments.

And.......I love my webtv!!!!!!!! I find it much more comfortable than
sitting at a computer typing away.

At no time did I correct your spelling. I had been attacked by TheFrankMan,
and I was pointing out the irony of the fact that HIS fans couldn't even
spell correctly the encomiums they heaped upon him.

I have never seen "puss" used in a perjorative sense (except possibly when
directed towards a man). Where I come from, it means "sexy lady," as in
"pussycat." Sorry for the confusion.

My memory is pretty good. I remember conversations I had in 1990.

how about you insulting a woman over what you stated to be an $8 tape?
you honestly think the world revolves around money dont you? you
insulting everyone because they dont capitiize letters.so this little
fact makes everyone beneath you? youhave a good memory, thats all..how
you choose to use the god given intelligence is despicable..and as for

I think I explained this once. As someone who makes a living selling my
intellectual production, I don't have much sympathy for anyone who
appropriates other people's creativity to save a few bucks. Or are you one
of those people who think all software (computer OR a/v) is up for grabs
because it isn't made of anything that can be fenced?

> you honestly think the world revolves around money dont you?

I don't get the connection. Money is just a means of exchange.

you

How do you make a leap like that? All I said was that I think people who are
too lazy to capitalize and punctuate are inconsiderate. How does that make
them "beneath" me?

youhave a good memory, thats all..how
> you choose to use the god given intelligence is despicable..

Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. But what do you think is
despicable about designing network software?

and as for
> your notion that the 100 year anniversary is meaningless, well id like
> to see you go up to a group of people marking the event, and see what

You are making a "might makes right" argument. How about if I went up to a
group of people who have no idea what date of the sinking was, and asked
them? That wouldn't prove any more than your experiment.

And anyway, you missed my point. What I meant by the 2012 comment is that we
funny 10-fingered creatures imprint our decimal numbering system on the
universe, when there are no numbers out there at all.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Everyone else understood it. Or don't you have much in the comprehension

That's a lot of BS, Tom, you clearly stated not capitalizing and not
using commas. That's clearly typographical. What does that have to do
with "rules". We all know who you are directing this at, and they
happen to be Webtv people. You clearly singled out webtv users. Maybe
they don't accel at language skills, typographical skills, whatever, but
I'm sure they accel in areas that you and I don't.

Try doing what I do.......just read the post, maybe read it a 2nd time
and comment back on what it was about. NOT how it was typed. It's not
hard, trust me.
