Has anyone out there seen the movie "Somewhere In Time"? If so, I'm sure you've noticed the definate similarities
between these two films.
1. Both movies start in the present, then go back to 1912.
2. Both movies involve a piece of jewellery that links to the past.
3. Both movies involve the two lovers having a difference of class.
At the end of Titanic, it is remarkably similar to Somewhere In Time. In Somewhere In Time, Richard Collier loses
Elise McKenna, and as a way of letting go, drops the coin (much like Rose dropping the diamond).
Then, in Somewhere In Time, Richard dies on the bed only to be REUNITED with his lost love in the end. Now, this
scene is EXACTLY the same as the final scene in Titanic. In Somewhere In Time, the camera takes on Richard's point
of view, seeing Elise McKenna in the distance. As the camera approaches, we leave Richard's point of view, seeing
the two lovers hold hands. At this point the movie ends.
If you haven't seen Somewhere In Time, SEE IT - it's a wonderful film.
