As promised a few days ago, here is a list we have compiled for the
professional and the enthusiast on various film memorabilia places around the
world - some supplied by friends on this list. We have worked with a few of
these places and make comments when possible. The others are listed without
knowledge to their quality. If you have any additional stores that you like or
have any changes, please let me know! I'll post the "finalized" list on our
website.

Wow, Dennis, what a great resource! One bookseller that should be
on your list is Robert Murphy; I've bought many movie-related
books from him over the past few years, and the arrival of a new
edition of his printed catalog in the mail used to be occasion
for rejoicing in the days prior to the widespread use of Internet
booksearch engines. I'm not sure he's still printing the
catalogs, as I haven't received one in quite a while. Full
contact info and a searchable inventory, can, however, be found
at:

http://www.abebooks.com/home/MURPHYBOOKS/

Speaking of Internet sites,

> 5. http://daniel.interloc.com./

is, sadly, no more - Interloc transformed into Alibris some time
ago, and hitting http://interloc.com now will take you to their
site. I cannot recommend them except as a last resort, as there
is no way for you to contact individual dealers directly; Alibris
acts as a middleman, and a few comparison searches between
Alibris and the ABEbooks will frequently reveal the same books
being peddled at Alibris for close to twice what the dealers are
selling them for directly via ABEbooks.

Although Alibris does broker books belonging to other dealers, it lists
its own stock which I'm told is now more than 500,000 books.

Alibris is a dealer. The books it lists are almost always actually
available (unlike others) and anything can be returned within 30 days
for any reason. I've done it several times - no hassles.

Alibris' own books are those listed as "ships in one day" (from their
warehouse). Sure, I search lots of other sites, but I often find titles
on Alibris priced well below other venues.

Worth a look, even just to enjoy the articles about book sellers,
collectors and the trade.
