I bought some of the Louise Brooks films you mention from Sunrise Silents.
I was disappointed with the quality. They seem to have created them at
a low picture resolution, as if their equipment couldn't go higher.
There's no video tape effects as far as I can tell. Though I haven't
watched them for a while, not really enjoying it. I believe they make
their own masters.
I sat and watched Love 'Em and Leave 'Em and A Girl In Every Port inside
the National Library of Australia in Canberra in 1994, from copies on
film, saying I was a student.
The course was over, but it did include some video subjects.
I have The Crowd on DVD, with a new music soundtrack.
