MTV developing a "Scream" TV series

It's unclear, however, if the drama series based on the movie
franchise will include Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, who worked on
the original movies.

Not that unclear. Notice how faithfully Teen Wolf follows the original:
They kept the title and two character names.
