Marilyn Monroe 'Fantasist' - a term coined by leading Marilyn Monroe
Expert, Mark Bellinghaus to describe Ms. Carmen's invented fantasy
stories, in which she constantly falsely connected herself to Marilyn
Monroe and other prominent celebrities for many years. Frank Sinatra
was another one of her victims. Upon her death, even Clark Gable was a
claimed connection to Ms. Carmen, made up by her son. Ms. Carmen is
pictured at the movie premiere of 'The Last Mogul' in 2005, where Mark
Bellinghaus last saw her in person.

2007-12-31 13:20:49 - (with friends like Jeanne, who needs enemies?!)
by Ernest Cunningham, author, The Ultimate Marilyn
The fantasies and lies of Jeanne Carmen are an insult and an outrage
to the memory of Marilyn Monroe. It should be obvious to anyone that
Jeanne was never in the same room with Marilyn, never spoke to her,
never set foot in her home.
Robert Slatzer and Jeanne Carmen were President and Vice-President of
the Marilyn Monroe Conspiracy Factoryevil twins of tabloid trash.
Slatzer died in 2005, Jeanne died this week at age 77. They were a
dynamic duo spewing out fantasies and lies in countless TV shows and
documentaries and tabloids.
Slatzer would growl, 'She was a little girl that knew too much- and
tell of Marilyn threatening JFK and RFK with a tell-all press
conference. Jeanne would remember that wild time when she and Marilyn
took Bobby Kennedy to a nude beach. Later, she would remember when she
and Marilyn teased Jack Benny in a sauna, and Errol Flynn showed them
a peephole to spy on his love-making guests.
Over the years, Slatzer and Jeanne would refresh their tired tales,
come up with new claims, new fantasies, new outrages. Slatzer would
say Marilyn was murdered because she knew the truth about the aliens
crashing at Roswell . . . and Jeanne would tell of Bobby Kennedy
finding Marilyn's tell-all red diary, and threatening to shut her up.
I published
The Ultimate Marilyn book in 1998, and right away received letters,
warning, threatening, demanding that my rude remarks against them be
removed. Jeanne's creepy son Brandon even sent me a copy of a TV
documentary called 'Jeanne Carmen, Queen of the B-Movies.- (You know
of course that B-movies were the bread and butter of the movie
industry, perfectly respectableand that Jeanne Carmen never appeared
in a B-movie: her movies come under the heading of Exploitation Movies
(perfectly unrespectable). The movie she's most associated with is
'The Monster of Piedras Blancas- (available only on VHS). You've been
warned.
Apparently, Jeanne Carmen could find a reason for her life only
through Marilyn Monroe. She would attend the memorial services for
Marilyn Monroe, at the Westwood Memorial Cemetery, stepping over the
gravestones on spindly legs, a flamingo looking for worms. The
biographer Donald Spoto (who had scorned Jeanne in his Marilyn
biography) was speaking at a memorial service, when Jeanne's son
Brandon shouted out, 'You're a sick man, Donald!-
Another year: Jeanne did not appear in the chapel, but stood beside
Marilyn's crypt, signing autographs, acting for all the world like a
hostess welcoming guests to her party. And Brandon would look on with
pride. Another year: she stood at the crypt, wearing an enormous
plastic bosom (with nipples) under her sweater, preening, smiling, as
if to say, 'You think Marilyn had knockers, look at these!- In some
circles Jeanne would be classified as a dirty old woman.
She would also show up at the memorial 'pool parties,- and pose for
photographs with anybody and everybody, including those members who
should have known that she was a lie, a phony. But these people are
bewitched by the idea of celebritybut I sometimes think they're losing
track of Marilyn Monroe.
Jeanne Carmen showed up at Barclay Butera for a 2005 auction of
Marilyn Monroe items (including that funny watercolor that Marilyn
supposedly painted for JFK). Collector Mark Bellinghaus attended this
auction together with USC professor and author Lois Banner and avoided
any contact with Jeanne Carmen and her son. Jeanne Carmen identified
herself as a friend of Marilyn . . . and a lover. For that lie alone
she should have been arrested.
Her greatest performance may have been when Frank Sinatra died in
1998. She turned on the tears for the TV cameras, saying that Frankie
had begged her to marry him, but she knew that he could never be happy
such just one womaneven a woman like Jeanne Carmen!
After years of promising to tell-all, Jeanne's autobiography finally
appeared this year. It's called JEANNE CARMEN: MY WILD WILD LIFE as a
New York Pin Up Queen, Trick Shot Golfer & Hollywood Actress. Written
by Brandon James. It's published by iUniverse, a vanity press, which
means that Jeanne and Brandon paid for it. Regular book stores never
carry vanity titles, so if you want more of Jeanne's lies and
fantasies you'll have to order it through the Internet.
Flipping around, I found this passage -
In just a few short years I had gone from being a little country girl
from the hills of Arkansas to being a famous model, a trick shot golf
artist and an actress. I had appeared on Broadway, been featured on
the covers of numerous magazines and played golf with the likes of Bob
Hope, President Eisenhower and the Duke of Windsor. I thought I'd done
pretty much everything there was to it. Little did I know, I was about
to engage in the biggest thrill of my life. Meeting and becoming
friends with an actress like Marilyn Monroe.
What a resume!
What false modesty!
What crap!
In the past couple of months, Jeanne and Brandon tried a steal a few
more headlines, sending out press releases for an upcoming movie based
on the book about wild Jeanne and her trick shot life. But who would
play the all-important role of Jeanne's dear friend Marilyn Monroe? In
a flurry of press releases, the names of Christiana Aguilera, Scarlett
Johansson, and Kate Bosworth were tossed around.
But now we'll never know because the movie will never be madeit
wouldn't have anyway, because it was just a phony press release to
begin with.
From a phony book.
About a phony woman.
