I just watched this movie for the first time (i know, i know!) yesterday
and liked it, but I was wondering what everyone made of the plausability
of the ending of the film (that Jack had been the caretaker the entire
time???), and I also heard it had many subtextual references to Native
Americans, and I was just wondering if anyone was so kind and
knowledgeable to point out what these were...

The Native American link is interesting. I'm no expert on Indian
beliefs, but I do know they believed that certain places or areas of
land could "energy charged". That would kind of fit in with the goings
on at the Overlook.
