Hello Everybody!

Just a few quick questions:

1. Has anyone out there seen Raja Hindustani? If so, how is it. I have
heard from a few people that it's popularity will be comparable to that
of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge's. Would you say that too. It is playing
at a theatre near my house and if I hear enough praise for it, I might
just go and see it!

2. What ever happened to Shashi Kapoor. Everytime I inquire about him,
all I hear is that he has ballooned to twice the size he was in his
handsome days and takes on the odd English movie role. I am dying to
know, so if anyone out there has the latest scoop, just yell!

3. A friend of mine told me that Karishma (goddess) Kapoor is really
Shashi Kapoor's daughter as he married a caucasian woman. Is this true?

Thanks for your patience with my ignorance!

Cheers,

V

Hey V,
Don't worry, you're not ignorant, just a little more into the
'now' and not so much in the past. here are some answers to your queries.

1. I've heard that Raja Hindustani has gone SUPERHIT, something tremendous
back in the Homeland (India). It's supposed to be really funny, and the
story is worthwhile too. While it hasn't come to Montreal yet, Ive heard
from friends and relatives in New York and Toronto (major Indian pops. in
case you didn't know) that it's a good see, maybe comparable to DDLJ. I
will definitely go see it whenever it comes to town. The fact that I'm a
HUGE Aamir Khan fan should explain that even if lt's a bad movie, which I
highly doubt, I'll go to see it. But like yourself, I would also like
some kind of review from others who have actually seen it. I also invite
one and all to write in their ops of it.

2. Shashi Kapoor is in the midst of producing a movie somewhere, either
in Europe or N.America. Sorry there isn't more info.

3. V, Man! Who is your source???????????? It's true that Shashi married a
caucasian. Her name was Jennifer and at one point starred in his maovie
'Junoon' (circa 1979). after she died from some disease (cancer, I think)
he ballooned up to his present size by boozing it up all the time,
mourning his loss. He has one son, Karan, who starred in such movies as
'Ahista Ahista' and 'Sultanat'. He looks like a caucasian Shashi Kapoor
and is presently a spokesmodel for Bombay Dyeing in India and Europe.
As for Karishma (Goddess)[?!?!?!?!?!?!?!] Kapoor, she is not
Shashi's but a product of the mixing of Randhir (Chimpoo) Kapoor's and
Babita's gene pools. She gets her eyes from the Kapoor side (i.e. Raj
Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor).

I hope you find the info useful, write back to Sunder,

but Raj Kapoor's granddaughter who is Shashi Kapoors brother. This also
means she is Rishi Kapoor's niece. I've forgotten the name of her
father.
