How did Hitchcock find his scripts

I was wonderering. I have seen most of Hitchcock's films, and they are of
course brilliant. However, I was also struck by the similarities in the kind
of stories he chose. Does anyone know how he went about selecting stories.
Did he get them in the mail, or could he choose from a selection of scripts
at his studio? Did he have some writers that he used more than others?
