In support of George

I have been a regular reader of this newsgroup for several months.
My interest in this group has been following the debates among true
Chaplin fans over the contraversial aspects of Chaplin's career and
personality. What I have enjoyed most is George's particiaption in
these debates. My inspiration in writing this post is that he was
recently accused of "offending everyone" in this newsgroup. Not
true. For me, this is the livliest NG on the net because George is
willing and able to offer a rare voice of dissent concerning Chaplin's
politcs and private life. George, dont let them get to you...we
always open your posts first.

Actually, I don't think George is an idiot. But his emotions
and ideological fanaticism often get the better of him, which causes
him to post irrational stuff that some people are bound to find
offensive, even when he isn't trying to offend them.

And when they object vigorously to his arguments--as well they
might--then he accuses them of "intellectual goon tactics."

I'd like to think his reason can prevail, but my experience over
the last six months isn't encouraging.
