I have enjoyed horror films for many years and can say without
hesitation that this is one of the worst movies ever made. The
poor script and bouncing cinematography was an added touch for the
worst film of the year award. One of the better lines in
this turkey was when one of the male actors were laughing at Heather and
said " Heather has a dirty behind" Lines like that are sprinkled
throughout the film. Another memorable scene comes when Heather asks for
what seemed to be three minutes of the films seventy-six minutes of
running time , Quote " Why are we stopping,? can anyone tell me , why
are we stopping.? After this bomb, I went home and watched the
original version of The Haunting.

I just went over this on another thread, so I'll be brief...

A) No full script was written. It was real dialogue as improvised by the
actors. Is that not good enough for you? Not *real* enough?

B) It was all shot by the actors themselves while hiking and camping.
Truly professional-looking footage would just not have been convincing.

This isn't a horror film. Hollywood makes horror films.

This is an art film. This is a psychological horror/thriller film. This is
an experimental film. This is a raw footage documentary film (albeit fake).
This is anything EXCEPT what you perceive as a "horror" film. It is not the
same as The Haunting, original or remake, it is not the same as Carrie, it
is not the same as The Shining, it is not the same as Alien or Poltergeist
or Brahm Stoker's Dracula. To watch the film expecting to see a horror film
is to miss the entire point. I'm sorry, I'm not ragging on you, but alot of
people seem to be missing this point.

My reply, Thank you Steven. Last night me and a friend decided we'd
see what all the talk was about. This film sucked! you want a spooky
movie then watch the Exorcist. That was a classic film.

But we still don't get why anyone would *bother*. Like, why are you still
reading this newsgroup? Hasn't it lost your interest by now? I'm not saying
you *can't,* but if all you're going to add to it is your opinion on how bad
the movie is, I'm afraid I'm missing the point.

You little B.W.P. fan people can't take criticism. That's just too
bad. This movie was probably the first forboding indie movie you
teenieboppers have ever seen.No matter what you say, if you think that
weak, sparse script couldnt have been any better you have no
imaginations. If you want to see how a horror movie should look in the
woods, watch Last House on the Left.If you want to know how a pseudo
horror documentary should be done ,watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This movie was nothing but slop that was made in a New York

God, yes, this was a terrible movie! If I didn't know any better, I'd
think it was a bunch of raw footage shot by three film students lost in
the woods! Icky!

Imagine. At 29 I'm still a teenybopper. Gladdens my foolish little heart.
And as foreboding indie movies go, I'd say it was damn good. And that's
even lumping it in with goodies like "The Vanishing" and "Begotten" and "Pi."

> No matter what you say, if you think that

Hey, even better, how about *no* script! It was all improvised, you
ninny! And I'd say that a movie with *no* gore or visible monster still
scaring the shit out of an appreciable number of people is a wonderful
testament to the power of imagination.

Both are worthy movies, but both resemble documentaries in the rawness
of their production value, nothing more. I'd put it with "Saw" for raw
fear, that's for sure.

Again, I respond to this post just to ask others to ignore this little
chunk of sack cheese. Killfile him or just skip over his posts. Giving
him *any* attention will (in his eyes) validate his useless existence.

I'm sorry that his mommy and daddy didn't raise him properly. Although,
this "waste of space" makes a solid argument for birth control...

Please don't respond to me, either. He doesn't deserve a thread.

Well, hell, at least they did it on PURPOSE! Not like the rest of
Hollywood, which sinks millions of dollars into productions that are
"arty" or have "great special effects"--but guess what? They're CRAP!
So who's better off? Someone who spends $35,000 on a crappy movie or
someone who spends $35 million?

That wasn't a "pseudo horror documentary." It's not done in the same style as
a documentary. It was based LOOSELY on Ed Gein. Come on, dude, this isn't
