I like mine and still think that for an older design, it's a great bike.

The VRX is nice since it is "adjustable" for downhill, cross country or
flat. It didn't have as good as components though so I opted for the Y22.

You didn't specify whether you wanted info on the Y bikes or the VRX
bikes...sooo...
Mine is a Y-5, and I love it. However, with that said, there are some
things that need to be noted.
I'm am a very heavy rider, so for me durability was a concern. The single
pivot in the Y-5 is massive and also easy to maintain.
The suspension is a Unified Rear Triangle, which works well when seated.
Some don't like it 'cause when you stand out of the saddle you loose a lot
of the suspension in the rear end. Well, *for me* that isn't a problem,
'cause I don't get off the saddle that much. The only time it might be a
concern is if I'm going downhill, and I'm off the back (thought I'm likely
to be going so slow that my suspension, especially with heavy springs,
wouldn't activate that much anyways)
The only other single pivot bike that I tried was a Cannondale Super V-700.
After a few miles of test ride, on and off-road, I determined for sure that
it wasn't the bike for me.
If you are a lighter weight rider you may want to consider one of the
technically more sophisticated types of FS bikes.
As for the VRX, I think it is a little heavier than my Y-5, but it does use
a different suspension design.
IMHO a bike is more about your physical requirements, your riding style and
financial resources than it is about brand name. That's just my opinion
though...I know others will think I've got a lousy bike (from a technical
suspension point of view) but I doubt many people get more smiles per mile
than I do, and that is what riding is all about.
