Looks good. How about a "Team Vandeman" jersey? I'd buy 10 just to give
away.

You can tell when you wear them and you start feeling the jersey carress
your body (i'm not going 2b explicit here). And most jerseys which tend to
do that will be bright colored with all kinds of logos. Also, a male jersey
is worn by a guy, a female by a girl.

Um, in case you didn't notice, those logos are for fake stuff. =P They're
from posts in the newsgroup, and i don't want the jersey to be too "serious"
(oh no, I said it! save us all!)

The only difference is those two little logos. And they're tiny, besides.
I could see if I put a "rockshox" logo on there somewhere, but those are
jokes!

Voler is the company thats making the jersey. I'm pretty sure they require
it to be on there somewhere, and that seems like the best place.

My comments were most definately tongue in cheek. Just picture it:
thousands of mountain bikers all sporting MV's name. He would have a fit.

Why do they require that their advertising be on our jerseys? Are we not
going to pay them for the fabrication? Or do they offer a discount if they
get the advertising space on our backs?

I own quite a few
jerseys and shorts made by Voler and they make some really
comfortable stuff . The only place that I really see their name
tag is on the tag on the collar . However I see nothing wrong
with the name Voler being placed on the jersey itself . I am not
going to be too concerned with reading it while riding down some
twisty single track dodging trees .

No, my point was that the Commander was working his jersey designs around
the fixed placement of the Voler logo. He wouldn't have to do that if the
logo weren't there at all. However, if he doesn't mind fitting the Voler
logo in there and it doesn't seem too commercial, I have no real prob with
it.

Ok, I still gotta find out about that, but I'm gonna post a couple pics and
ask which one people like better.... IE, "sponsors" vs. no "sponsors",
color scheme 1 vs. color scheme 2... so we can nail down what the final
looks like. Off to make the color ones now, should be posted by later
today.

Hmm. I may have to rethink my previous position that the requirement for
their advertising on our clothes won't be a problem. What is the deal
here?!? Are we not paying them for the raw article of clothing, the labor
of applying the artwork, all other labor and costs? Are they cutting us
*any* kind of special deal? If not, I think they can put their logo in
their back pocket and sit on it. Why should I wear their advertising and
*pay* to do so to boot?

I agree with Kathleen. Voler makes the shirt, so it's
understandable that their logo would be on it (it's probably on
all the shirts sitting in their warehouse right now, waiting for
custom orders to come in). I'd rather not have the fake
companies on the jersey, but that wouldn't stop me from buying
one.

Hehe... in that case, might as well put the names of all those buying the
jersey around the word Voler... hehe
;-p Or you could print one piece with "Voler, Yuck!" for Marty. heh..
wonder how they'd respond to that request.
But seriously, I think it's more like Dom said, they have excessive stock
with their name already printed, or printing their name is part of the
manufacturing process... anyway no big deal to me.

Yup. I mean, come on, think about it.

How many helmets have you bought that don't have a logo *somewhere* on the
outside? How many BIKES have you bought without a company name? Quality
Saddles? Shifters? Derailleurs? Cranksets?

Even other clothes, like Polo Dress shirts/golf shirts, a lot of Ralph
Lauren stuff, etc. etc. all have their tag on their somwhere.

I say just deal with it, they make good stuff with good material, so be it.
I'll have a vote on the fake companies up on a webpage maybe tonite (if I
finish this homework I'm taking a break from... otherwise, probably sometime
this weekend).

Gee, maybe we should get paid for wearing all that logo crap. I like
the idea of adding RAMBO and Corvco, along with having Voler on there.
Folks not familiar with a.m-b might want to know where they can get that

We're only going to put two fake companies on the jersey, that are based on
*posts* to this newsgroup. I mean, come on, you can't make the jersey
TOTALLY serious! 80% of all the messages on this group *are* jokes...
(including MV, of course)! No legit companies but Voler on there, because
they require it. And thats it. no more. Voler is a definite, I'll put the
Corvco/Rambo thing up to a vote on a webpage as soon as I get around to it.

It's kind of phunny, I keep buying name brand products and them taking
their nameplates off. I had a 1983 Yamaha Vision that I had to remove nine
different symbols from. I couldn't do anything about the four more cast
into engine and frame parts. This is kind of like having a Klein Attitude
Race and painting it CrackAndFail Purple.

I love the idea of using joke brand names on the jersey -- after all, it's
supposed to be about our little online community. I could also go for the
idea of tacking something on to the tail end of the Voler symbol like "ine"
so that it's not quite the same as all their other products.

Oh, and Kathleen? Did you notice my previous tag? Tongue was firmly placed
in cheek.
