Obstruction may consist of any attempt to hinder the discovery,
apprehension, conviction or punishment of anyone who has
committed a crime.

The acts by which justice is obstructed may include bribery,
murder, intimidation, and the use of physical force against
witnesses, law enforcement officers or court officials.

The crime or act of willfully interfering with the process of
justice and law especially by influencing, threatening, harming,
or impeding a witness, potential witness, juror, or judicial or
legal officer or by furnishing false information in or otherwise
impeding an investigation or legal process.

Federal law on obstructing justice: a summary. Obstruction of
justice is a felony under federal law. While obstruction of
justice is often charged as a state law offense, the matter
becomes a federal charge where it involves a federal court
proceeding or the federal government.
