My cheap Mountain bike, has had better days and I doubt if it would stand up
to off-road work. Now I noticed one online store offering the Trek 4900 Disc
bike 2001 reduced to £499. Looks a good spec, would it be any use for the
occasional off-road jaunt and some on-road work ? Would the 19.5" bike be ok
for me 32" leg, 5' 11" ?

Anybody got any advice ?

<J_M_...@btinternet.com> did issue forth:

I'm 5'11" with a 32" inside leg too, and I used to own a 16" Trek. That
was a bit small for me, but not by much. I think that 19.5" would
probably not be too big for you, but personally I'd go for the 18" if
it's available.

Of course, I may be wrong and the only real way to tell is to sling your
leg over one, but that may not be possible ordering online.

Hi there,

i`m 5ft 11" too and I love my Trek 4300 19,5". I felt kinda cramped on the 18"
but not by much..... i guess it would`ve made for some better manueverability
(sp?) but i feel better on the larger frame..... I`d say try the 18 inch too if
you can, it`s personal perference, too...

Good luck!
