Hello, I am a newbie looking for a hardtail with front suspension for USD500
retail = GBP450 retail in the UK :-(

Two of the interesting bikes I have seen in showrooms are by Sunn (model
'Notion') and Claud Butler (model 'Tasmin'). I have never heard of these
brands; the former is French, the latter British.
Are they any good? Does anyone own one of these bikes - what's your
experience with it?

Hi,

Sunn Bicycles is a french manufacturer and the most famous in France.
Do you know Caroline Chausson, Cedric Gracia, Nicolas Vouilloz, Christophe
Dupouey, Miguel Martinez... They rode on a Sunn last year and won all the
major MTB events !
For your notion, it's a good bike and not expensive. One thing you need to
know : Sunn bicycles are dedicated for pure XC riders so for competition
more than just for ride with friends.

A bientot,

Christophe

Claude Bulters aren't too bad. My cousin and i started out on them last
year(now we both ride new Kona's, I got a Cinder Cone he got a NuNu) but I
soon changed most of the parts for far better ones. I even took the back
wheel to bits and managed to rebuild it with a better hub. i've now given
it to my girlfriend to use, I'm still not sure weather to sell it and buy
her a Trek. They have a sire on the web www.falconcycles.co.uk thats who
owns the name now. If you've got £500 to spend then take a look at the new
CB Cape Wrath, Alu frame, LX bits and Formula cable disc brakes.
