New saddle for new trek 4900 disc bike 2001

Just bought this bike via evanscycles.com and was impressed with their
service and ease of assembly at this end. So went out on it on Saturday, did
some brief off road and a 12mile road ride. Seems great, I do think I'll
replace the saddle though, bit uncomfortable, basic botranger i think,
anyone got any recommendations ?

If you've found a way besides trial and error (read: sore butt) let me know.
A bunch of strangers who don't have your rear aren't going to offer any
worthwhile advice. You may like more/less padding, shorter/longer nose,
wider/narrower seat, etc...

My worthless advice/limited experience is that I started using Terry saddles
because of their love it or return it guarantee and I haven't returned one
yet, right now using a liberator on the city bike and a fly on the
hardtail.. Dunno if they still offer that guarantee or not.

I switched from a Bontrager concrete block to a ti Terry Fly. Couldn't be
