There must be a shop or two in San Francisco that rents. One shop in
Palo Alto rents mountain bikes, but that may be a little far for you.

Trails around here run the gamut. You can get a lot of variety on one
trail. Here are some areas on the Peninsula:

Hi,

I am going on vacation to San Francisco. I was wondering if there are any
good mt biking areas where I can rent a bike. Also what is the riding like,
rocky etc?

Thanks

Mike

Just watch out for mikey while you're there. He probably has land mines
setup in the trails. hehehe...
(only a joke. I'm not feeding the troll. I'm on his kill list anyway)

Pacific Bicycles rents, Giant Mt Bike. Pretty nice for rentals (fork shocks,
etc.). They are in Redwoods City, San Mateo and Mt. View.

Check out the trail review section on www.mtbr.com for a partial list
of trails. Conditions vary, whatever you want is here for the taking.
It's not hard to find a shop, make a couple of calls and you'll be set.
