I have a 1999 Yamaha R6. On 06/09/99 I placed an order for a tail enclosure.
Eurobike put the full amount ($274.99) on my credit card at that time. I
asked for either the R1 or R6 style enclosure. Either painted or
unpainted - it did not matter because my bike is not a stock color. I just
wanted whatever was available first. I was told it'd be about two weeks.
3 weeks later I called to find out status, I'm told the product will be in
on Friday or Monday. The following Tuesday I called - and am told that
there are delays and it will be another week or so. Mid-July I call to find
out status and am told that it will be in the following week. I explained
that if it wasn't in, I wanted my money back. On 07/29/99 I called to find
out about my order and was told that it would be shipped in a week. I said
that I had heard that all before and that this was taking too long and I
wanted a refund. Manny, the owner, said, "if you can't wait three more
days - then don't waste my time" and hung up on me. I called back and
wanted to give Manny my credit card number for the refund and he hung up on
me again! I was never rude nor did I raise my voice - yet I, the customer,
got hung up on twice.
On 08/03/99, the $274.99 had not been refunded to my credit card, so I
called Eurobikes to find out why. I was told that they save up all the
refunds till the end of the week. Of course, if this was true, my refund
should have been taken care of on 07/30 since that was a Friday.
It is 08/14/99 and I still have not received a refund and continue to be
jerked around by Manny. They have now been holding my money for two full
months.
Since Eurobikes is obviously not willing to refund my money in a timely
fashion I have filed a report with my credit card company so that I will get
my money back. Additionally I have filed a report with the Better Business
Bureau. I can understand that products get delayed and there are often
unexpected circumstances that occur that can disrupt delivery dates.
However, I do not think it's acceptable to be treated poorly and/or ripped
off. So now I want to reach as many people as possible to let them know
about my problems with Eurobikes.
Meanwhile, a friend of mine who also ordered from Eurobikes received his
products after waiting for over two months. When he received them - the
instructions were terrible and barely readable and the paint was shoddy.
The product was of very poor quality; he was very unhappy. When he called
to complain - Manny hung up on him.
