Your bike is hardly broken in at 10K miles. If nobody has ever messed
around with the carbs, they should stay synchronized forever because
there is very little wear on the moving parts.
Before I would try to adjust the throttle butterflies, I would run some clear
carburetor through a full tank of gasoline. 4 or 5 ounces of Berryman B12
or GumOut or STP carb cleaner will do wonders for cleaning out the
passages and ports and jets.

#1 is the front carb
#2 is the rear carb
#4 adjusts the idle speed for the front carb. The front carb is the master
carb. Adjust
the idle speed with the knob and then get the rear carb's vacuum to match the
front
carb's vacuum. If the idle speed is too fast or too slow, you can turn the
idle knob up or
down.
#40 adjusts the idle speed for the rear carb
>plugs are white.
The EPA mandated really lean idle mixture to pass the emissions
requirement, and when you're cruising on the highway, you're only
using about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle, so you're still running on the idle jets,
not the main jets.
Look deep into the spark plugs, down where the porcelin insulator
meets the steel body. If there's a thin ring of black soot, your plugs
are burning just fine.
