I have a 99 with 9k owned since new.
After aggressive rides and not so aggressive long rides it will puff smoke
sometimes while ridding.
They next day or after sitting a while after **IT WILL SMOKE A LOT** when
started!! I mean a lot! If I turn it off after a few minutes the pipes
smoke like a cigar!!! NO JOKE! I HAVE VIDEO!
Do any of you have this problem!!!
PLEASE HELP ME AND RE-PLY TO THIS MESSAGE TELLING ME SIMPLY:
* IF YOURS DOES OR DOES NOT SMOKE LIKE THIS
* WHAT YEAR, AND
* HOW MANY MILES
Here is what the Suzuki rep told my shop:
"The TL smoking is due to oil being burned. This oil is transferred when the
engine is ran at high rpm's. It forces oil from the sump into the crankcase
breather. The oil is then deposited into the airbox and picked up by the
engine when restarted. Smoking will continue until the oil is burned up.
Keeping your "revs" a little lower will improve this situation. Apparently
Suzuki has modified the breather system several times over the years in
production, but according to our rep the 1999 has the latest version already
installed."
Thanks, I really need your help!
