I'm making them. It looks like there is some competition out there
though. I've only seen the ones in CCI so far. I hope the rest of them
aren't making the bulbs with a million LED's like the ones I saw for
$110 in CCI. If they are then they are still in the stone age. It
should take no more than 4 to 5 LED's to do a rear blinker, if you do
it right. I was just playing with my latest edition, I left it on for
30 minutes or so just to see. No problems.
They will probably have to sell for about $25 to make it worth the
effort. The price will come down some with a bit of work. I'll have
fronts and tail lights soon also.
Sorry for the ad, but I'm not in business yet anyway.

We could always be of help in durability testing and market research....
How do the LED units compare in lumens to the GE bulbs that HD uses?
Let us know how it's going and when you go public.

I think $100 would be a little high. Well...actually $50 would be high. Heck!
Even $20 is high. Check this site - they're readily available for $10 a
piece.

I went and checked them out. They sure are big. I wonder why there are
so many LED's in the design? Probably using low output LED's instead
of the ones I do. Oh well.
Mine are brighter than the stock bulbs. They have a 10 year warranty.
If it fails for any reason other than physical damage I replace it
free. They are also smaller than the stock bulbs. I use the flat
lenses on my bike and the ones shown here for $10 won't fit.
I'll be working with a friend and have something ready for sale soon.
The only real problem is the HD self cancelling blinkers. My bulbs
draw so little current they are seen as open bulbs. My friend sells an
electronics package that works, it also makes the rear blinker come on
with the brake light. Nice idea.

DUde theres a company out of Calif. called HiTechProducts they have a full
line of L.E.D goodies including conversions and retrofits check them out at

I'm working hard to get mine into production. Physically smaller than
the stock part. The base is the same though so they are direct
replacements. I noticed that the ones they sell are red. You can't use
1157 red bulbs. The 1157's are the two way bulbs for the front. The
law doesn't allow red, only amber. Sorry these can't be used. If you
want to buy something that you can use I'd keep looking or wait for
mine.
With my design you must either use a load equalizer or some other
method to replace the HD electronics. There is a replacement module
called the Badlander. It works great. Wish I sold them.

>Dam Rebel you don't read well, they have amber and also fire boxes to
convert to park/turn/stop .. and as far as 1157 bulbs they also fir 1157
sockets... the more LED's the brighter the lite, why tthe hell would you
bother changing them if your only gonna put an 1157 bulb back in?

You might find it interesting that the new turn signal system on the '01 big
twins
from HD, the badlands 'equalizer' is no longer necessary, the module senses for
a
difference between the two sides to indicate a fault exists.
So as long as you modify both sides the same way, there should not be any
problem.
Be advised there is a limit of 4.5 amps per side, so -adding- turn signals
beyond the
3 bulbs + one indicator may prove difficult.
