When you are traveling West to East through the US,
I would HIGHLY suggest taking US route 200 through the state of Montana.
You will certainly enjoy this stretch of road.

I'll second that and add take SR 20 through WA to ID where ya pick up
2 to 200 in MT. Sandpoint, ID is kind of a clusterfuck anymore, but
it's not a deal breaker. That said, I'd stay away from Seattle unless
you like traffic from hell. Was voted th' worst traffic in th' USA
last week. And Spokane, WA is th' anus of WA, IMHO.

If you have a Rand McNally, follow th' roads with little green dots
next to 'em. You'll be glad ya did.

And be prepared for a long wait at th' Blaine border crossing into WA
from Vancouver BC. Th' US border patrol pukes can be a real PITA.
