Morning all-

Does anyone know the "official" or un-official quarter-mile and 0-60
time stats for the 2000 R6? I couldn't find any Web pages or magazine
articles that listed them.

Thanks!

Dave

The times were in the 99 R6 review in Motorcyclist and I believe it was
11.8. I had 129 mph at a local track.

Haven't found any of those specs for the 2000 models yet...but here's the
specs for the 1999 R6:

Top gear acceleratontime to speed:
60 - 80 mph; 4.61 seconds
80 - 100 mph; 4.78 seconds

*Best 1/4 - mile acceleration:
10.89 sec. @ 126.31 mph compare to '99 F4 : 11.22 sec. @ 122.50 mph
*rookie on deck

For some reason, Motorcyclist haven't done their annual 600
Shootout/Showdown/Shlepfest for this year yet... maybe 'cause the only one
with a significant change is the ZX 6R .. as far as the R6, F4 and the
GSXR..they pretty much all stayed the same. About this time last year,
though, the R6 was voted the top 600 of the year and Sport Rider says "When
sport -riding is distilled to its purest form, it all comes down to feel.
And the R6 simply feels like it can do what you ask without question." ..
this is some of the reason why I went from an F4 last year to the '00 R6
that I have now.

11.8??
er...
Well, the best time I've ever seen for a R6 is from sportrider at 10.68@128
and the worst is from motorcycle.com which was around 11 flat@125. Either
way, my R6 is significantly stronger than my last two bikes CBRf3 and
YZF600. But the reason to own this bike is the handling. It just steers so
fast and prescise, I coudln't care if it made 20 hp.
