After reading some posts through the group, I can't help but notice
that people all over the US get much better rates for bike insurance
than we do here in MA. State Farm, Progressive, Geiko, etc. refuse to
do business with residents in MA. Judging how the cages drive around
here, I can't blame them.

Anyways, I've got to register my 01' R1, and I'm being quoted $1169
for standard collision/fire/theft. I have a PERFECT driving record,
took a MSF class, do not have 1 ticket, yet my insurance is through
the roof! If your from MA, what do you pay? Who do you use for
insurance?

I think companies refuse because MA is one of those commy-liberal to-close
to New York and Hillary new England states.....oh yeah...that doesn't like
gun owners either. Move out West. Here we carry guns...shoot robbers and
such like...have so-so insurance rates...but nice mountains and occasionally
clean air.

Leave that pisspot of a place unless you are one of those who voted for fat
teddy. If so, then stay there, pay and die.

Don't laugh... I've thought about it! I'm contemplating moving to NH.
You know their motto. "Live free or DIE!". Nice motto!

I have a '00 R1 one claim and a ticket, took the MSF class and it costs me
$1200 and change.
All companys (brokers) will give you the same price, it's not the company's
choice in MA. It's based on town the bike is garaged in (i.e. Downtown
Boston = more $$) and the displacement, (650cc and up is the discount
"line"), and the book value of the bike.

Live Free or Die makes me shudder when I see all the bikes out there with
helmetless riders in NH...... But I want to move there too.... awesome
roads.
