I got the hotel (Thanks to Jamin for finding a cheap one.)
I got the Tix.
I got permission from Wifey, all I have to do is drop her in Napa before I
make my way down the coast.
AMS meetup at Laguna in July?

Game on!

Wow! July is just SO far away! At this point, I have zero intention of
attending any races- hey, in July I'd rather be riding or lazing about on a
beach- but beach lazing can be done in Monterey, which I reach by
motorcycle.... And in the evening I'd be up for festivities. Alternatively,
I could bring a helmet for Mary and show her Napa the way it's meant to be
seen (at excessive speeds on a motorcycle), or just the usual girly/wine
tasting/spa stuff--- I guess that's more up my alley than watching a bunch
of sweaty guys racing around some asphalt.... ;) But just about everyone I
know is going to meet up for MotoGP anyhow, so I might very well end up
there anyhow. It will be a last-minute thing for me, though, for sure.

My intention is to put the Speed Triple in the back of the truck and drive
us down there. We'll be unloading the bike at HWY 96 @ I5 and meeting up
somewhere in the wine country that eve. I am planning a couple of extra
days for screwing around with you and Xlax near the Lake Berryessa area
prior to the races.

That's the plan so far.

Well, so far so good. I've already got that whole weekend sort of marked
in "chalk" for motorcycle stuff. We will play it by ear. A couple of days
"screwing around" with you and Xlax near Lake Berryessa sounds.... well, way
too kinky to tell your wife about for sure!!! Just kidding! Larry and I can
put together some wild and wooly rides that will make MotoGP pale in
comparison, I'm sure. ;)

I like the idea of an AMS Horde ride... I gather there are a number of
people on the way to MotoGp who would join in as well... with a little
coordination with regards to location... time and route it should prove to
be a roaring success... I foresee a good pace and not one with go straight
to jail velocities...

Hey, count me in on this part (not the kniky part, just the riding
part)! I haven't ridden around the Lake Berryessa/Napa area since
moving up here to the Sierra Nevada mountains three years ago. :-)

I'm also down with a AMS ride down there. Karri and I are taking 2+ weeks,
most of which will be spent exploring California roads between the Oregon
border and the races in Monterey. We're trucking the bikes to "base camp" in
southern Oregon in order to shave time off the northernmost portion of the
trip and allow more days for riding in CA. We might get a little further
south than Monterey too, who knows. I do know she wants to spend a little
time in and around Napa at some point during the trip, which is fine by me.
Cheese, wine, maybe a spa day somewhere in there... sounds like a good time.
The tricky part for me will be to not get overly ambitious with the route
planning, because I know for a fact that once I start looking at maps I'll
want to go here, there, everywhere just for the fun of going.

And if Holly wants to get kinky at Lake Berryessa, I'm all for it! Larry,
you're a fine lookin' man, but you'll have to keep your hands to yourself
I'm afraid. ;)

This is starting to sound like a helluva fun trip. Mary will be all over
the wine/spa stuff.

Doubful. Do you think they'll have a #46 RC211V on display this time
around?

No #46 should be over in that other Japanese company tent... don't make me
go over there or I'll start in about Rossi needing a V4 to keep the #1
plate this season...

Huh??

Am I volunteering to do something or just to show up?

Like Holy said, July is a long time away but typically I take my vacations in
July anyway, so I will take a day or two off that week. It's on a weekend, no?

Would love to ride the R1 down there but It's only insured for liabilty, not
theft. I get paranoid if I park it someplace where I can't see it for more
than 2 minutes.

I'll look into a disc lock, a security screw for the damper (or just remove it)
and a tilt sensing alarm, preferably one with a pager system, so I can run out
and watch them ride away on my bike puahahaha:-(.

At least that way, I could feel a little more at ease about riding the R1 down
South .

So yes, sounds like fun to me.
