The mighty mite became operational this afternoon. 7 months down, got the
new handlebar Saturday, new shifter lever at lunch, a full tank of fresh gas
and off to work! The long way of course.

For starters...lets be real. The Vstrom is a REAL bike. Its man sized, man
powerful, its not meant for new riders I imagine. The sv650 feels like a
bicycle. The power hit is soft, it steers like a bicycle, it doesn't roar
with loud approval when you open it up like the vstrom does, it doesn't
engine brake like the vstrom does, its just plain feels WEIRD after a month
on the big twin.

But I can see why I used it at the track alot when I had a perfectly good
750 sitting in the same garage. I like bikes which dance, and any bike which
feels like a bicycle either is one, or it turns REAL well.

The small twin has alot more zippy zoomy feel to it than the big twin does.
It FEELS racey, doesn't hurt that the suspension is semi-premo and tuned
just for me whereas the big twin is still OEM. But the thing feels DINKY.
With good brakes.

Even wheeling it by hand into a tight parking spot, it feels lightweight and
small. The seating position is compact compared to the vstrom, but not at
all uncomfortable. The Corbin seat is much nicer as well, than just about
any OEM unit.

When I bought my F4i, it came with a Corbin seat. At first I thought, who
cares? All bikes come with seats (not counting trials bikes).

Well, I agree, the Corbin seat is a big plus.

BTW, you'll probably get the snow we are having today by tomorrow. 75
degrees all day yesterday and snow all day today. You got to love the wacky
spring weather out west.

Your imagination is getting away from you......'REAL bike....man
sized, man powerful'........you are starting to sound like you need a
REAL Harley thats MORE man sized and MORE man powerful!

It sounds like it would make a good stunt bike! :)

They do. Except wheeling (sp?) an SV 650 results in oil starvation and
burnt engines...

Yet another reason to ride a real trials bike, hehe. Unless you enjoy
destroying perfectly good motorcycles.

What? Where did you hear this? They have oil pumps right? How could
you starve the engine of oil if you have oil pressure? I think someone
is pulling your leg. It should be mandatory that all bikes wheelie
and* Not* blow up.

It would. But to use it in that capacity I would have to develop an
addiction to Quaaludes and drop 100 IQ points.

Ludes? How old are you Troy?

Sheesh, I thought I was an old geezer. "Ludes". Hhehe.

Yep, yer right. SVs do have oil pumps. They just weren't designed to work
at a 90 degree angle.

See, that's the problem. Some people think they are engineers and
understand design constraints.

And Buell should learn this design constraint: don't blow a stator or shake
loose the shift lever.

Good luck on the 500 mile a day wheelie to FL....

Ludes are a downer. What you need are some Zips(Speeders). Of course
you can dumb yourself down with some reefer. Most likely you can shave
off enough IQ points by smoking dope.

Hey, it's never too late to lose IQ.....and easier than gaining IQ.

(Is American IQ, smaller than Imperial IQ?)

A wheelie at 90 degrees? I don't think I have ever done such a thing.
45 degrees works really nice though.:-) Has anyone blown up an SV
while doing a wheelie?

That is news to me. Where did this occur?

I don't take it personal. Please disregard the letter I sent you

It is like this, I went on a group ride once with a Buell stunta type.
First stop, we had to fix his shift lever, rattled loose. Later that day
same day his stator gave out (second time for him). The rider mumbled
something about he hoped the bike got stolen as he rode bitch on an R6 for
the trip back to SLC.

So, yeah the Buell was groovy looking and sounded kind of neat.... But.

I am just waiting for mine to break. Original stator, battery and the
shifter is still intact. Lucky for me no problems worth mentioning. I
just have to stop treating it like my old CR 125.
