Ok, got a good one for you all.

On my 97 Gixxer 600, I absoutely cannot get the stock bar-ends off of the
handle bars. The bolts on both sides are stuck. I've tried everything I
know: Impact driver, bigger hammer, I've even used a torch to heat the bolt
heads for over 5 minutes, thinking that they might be secured with Loc-Tite
271. I still cannot get these darn bolts loose. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Terry

get a socket with screwdriver head and put something on it to make it longer,
giving you more leverage. I use a piece of PVC pipe to give me extra leverage
when removing torques bolts.

Suzuki lock tights the threads... you may need to hack saw them off... also you
may need to drill out the long aluminum slug that's inside the bar...

Locktite is used and can make it a bitch. The best tool is an impact
scewdriver. If you don't know what one is just go to Sears and ask
for one. They are cheap and will defeat the tightest bolt with either
a phillips or slotted end, which I assume is what you are dealing
with.

Alternately you could try some heat but that might cause other
problems, especially on the throttle side. The non permanent locktite
will soften up when heated. Five minuets with a hair dryer might be
enough.
