I have a VFR 800 and some time back during a visit to my dealer I was told
Honda has a TURBO kit for the VFR 800. It was expensive but I can't stop
wondering if it could be a solution to keep my bike and yet get lots of more
power. What I am most keen on knowing is if someone knows of how this kit
works, how much power do you get, how does it handle and does the engine and
transmission hold for the extra power?

The guy who owns Dynomo Humm, Brian Law, knows all there is to know about hot
rodding VFR motors and he has the dyno graphs to prove it. He can install an
870cc big bore kit and have you making about 114-117 rear wheel hp!

Well Im a turbo nut and I have yet to see a set-up for VFR being mass
produced. I would admit that the 800 would be a good bike to start with
since it is fuel injected. The only turbos I know of right now for Hondas
are for the Blackbird. Maybe someone has developed one for themselves at
great expense. Having never really thought of turbocharging a VFR , I
wouldnt know how viable it would be. If you really need more power, why dont
you start out with a bigger bike than the 800?? Ive ridden some big bore
turbos that would make you fill a diaper!! If you want an all purpose bike,
stick with the VFR, but if you want a straight line, smooth as glass,
turbocharged monster go with a used fuel injected CBR XX and put a Hahn
turbo setup on it for $3500. You could probably have the whole bike set up
and everything for less than $12500!!(Which by the way is what a few Kawi
dealers are asking for the ZX12) If you get the Hahn kit , make sure you
get a progressive controller of some type. There is nothing like a turbobike
making 8psi of boost when all of the sudden you close the wastegate on the
bike and it makes 15+psi. Nice molten rubber marks on the highway @ 90mph!!

I thnk I'll have to get back to my Honda dealer about the details of the
turbo kit (Honda's own) which would give me 200 Hp on the crank. In Sweden
we have a company who have been very successful in making turbo kits which
are also easy to drive. Here is a link to their last accomplishment:
