Strong motor, heavy, the front forks are not very adjustable as I remember,

and they're really too soft. Pretty good handling and decent brakes.
Good, but not great.

More of a GT bike than a sport bike. If you're looking for something that
will eat up the miles and handle decently, the RF900R is your bike.

There are also no "98" bikes. Suzuki no longer either makes them or imports
them to the USA. Any bike out there would be a "97". You might be able to
cut a good deal on them.

The RF 900 is a great motor, but not so great of a handling package, so what
you do is take the 900 motor out and put it into an RF600 chassis, a bit of
upgrading to the suspension, and breaks, and you have one REALLY fun bike!

I had an RF900 and loved it. It's blindingly fast, has a unburstable
motor and is comfy for long periods. Most of my miles were two-up
(occaisonally with a very full Ventura Bike Pack too) and it was superb.

The handling isn't leading edge, but then neither are most riders. If
you're light then you'll probably find the rear shock too hard, but
otherwise it's a first class bike.

Does qtr miles in the low 10's from stock and I once had an indicated
166 on the clock. Awesome.

A guy named Ken Hill, is currently racing one in the "OPEN PRODUCTION" class
with our local roadrace club (the "AFM"). He's leading the championship, and
has regularly beat other riders (slower ones of course) on everything from
Honda 900RRs to new Yamaha R1s!

The bike's not the ideal racebike ........ but Ken's proven that "it ain't no
slouch!"

Happy riding ..........

Indeed. A week before hitting the first AFM race at Sears this year
I proclaimed "It's too big to race!!" Oy. Did I feel stupid after
seeing Ken fly around turn 2 on that thing.

I've got a '95 rf900 and love it. Plenty of smooth power all over the
RPM range. It's a VERY capable bike on the street. I haven't pushed it
to it's limits yet but I'm getting close. The only thing I don't like
about it is the Battlestar Galactica rear-end but hey, I'm not looking
at it when I'm riding it.

The rf is a nice bike,I own one, positives: rides and handles well
reasonable power works extremely well two up had the bike for three years
been etremely reliable. negatives: not a bike to push to extremes
(suspension a little soft for really agressive riding) tail section really
interferes with the ability to carry saddlebags therefore limiting touring
capability. Overall very happy with bike have done about 40,000 miles on it
so far

The RF is a silent winner. I almost got my hands on a rare RF400.
