It's actually probably not that much quicker, I was just defending what I
ride. It is a fun ride though, I've hade bigger bikes, and they are fast,
but I do enjoy how easy it is to run the twisties on the RGV. It is also fun
having something unique. How many R1's CBR's GSXR's do you see in a day, how
often do you see something like what you have? Just a thought

Definitely not a big bike! 4 stroke 250s are about as slow as you can get -
and relatively small. But the frame etc would be the same size as the 400,
although the 400 seems slightly wider across the engine area.

CBR400s or VFR400s I guess would be a good introduction to sportbikes, as
are the CBR250s. But I'm not sure what you're riding now if you're thinking
of 'moving up'. I guess an FXR150 or RG150? In which case a 250 would be an
easy move up - slightly heavier and faster.

go the 400 over the 250 anyday
if you have ridden them both you would know that the 400 is far better than
the 250

the 250 is too small, revs more than it goes
the 400 is superb, handling , size everything
inspires bucket loads of confidence

sorry cant help you on clubs

i rode 1 a few years ago

if you are a horsepower junkie it is not the bike for you
if you want handling and confidence

My experiences
I've had ZXR750H1 , ZZR1100, GSX750F, Ducati916

i have never been a confident rider and have never been able to explore the
capabilities of any of the bikes i have owned
but when i got on the CBR400RR , it was unreal,
not too fast
not too slow
fit me perfect 5'8
handles superb
brakes unbelievable
not too big not too samll
good weight

i took off behind a GSXR1100 in a suburb from corner to a roundabout and it
wasnt too far behind it ,
keep it pinned throughgeach gear and it gets to speed fairly quickly and
deceptive , pulled 160 -170 in a back stret , very smooth linear delivery
rather than gobs of go like bigger bikes , you could wind it out in each
gear without
1 scaring yourself stupid
2 crashing

i'm in Australia and these are imports and very few around , CBR250RR is
everywhere so decided to have a look at one and it was scarey
It is a small bike that revs to about 18K and you feel it just revving but
not a lot of go

I have never felt so confident on any other bike except maybe for the short
short ride i had on a aprillia RS125 , at least aprillia makes their bike
small in capacity not small in size like the CBR250RR

Try posting to aus.motorcycles - you might find some riders there.
