What did my hands do before they held you?

did you get it/them? we went out to get hay & i haven't seen
you back online.
lee <for those out of the IM loop, the books were The Out of
Sync Child & The Out of Sync Child Has Fun>
I was planning on it .. but didn't get to the book store. I stopped by another
store and found a great comforter and matching cloth shower curtains for C's
room. (Bright pink, blue, and yellow flowers w/ a wild checkered background.)
Shower curtains you ask? lol .... I shortened them and hung them on her bunk
bed, so now the bottom is a flower power tent :D (they are hung w/ green frog
hooks)
oh ... and a butterfly rug to cover that gallon of bright blue paint that she
spilled on one year old wall to wall carpet when I was painting her room.
oops.
This kids room is getting more and more fun .... Now I have to get the courage
to paint the dressers and paint a purple chalk board on her closet doors :)
So ... Z's room is completed (soft yellow, including a yellow ceiling w/
butterflies) :) and C room is almost done (bright yellow walls, blue ceiling,
and pink trim) ..... I'm thinking about what I want to do to our bedroom :)
something romantic :)

Boo *loves* pink, especially bright pink. i'd probably have
used the shower curtains for the windows, but Boo doesn't have
a bunkbed. i have been looking at a loft bed though. the bed
has a ladder & underneith is a desk, dresser & bookcase built
in. since the room that will be his eventually (he is going to
get out of my bed, right?) is small, about 9'x10', it would
leave more free floor space.
we have duckies in the upstairs bath. cloth curtain with
chenille ducks, duckie hangers, duckie nonskid stickers in the
tub, 3 different duckie bathmats... i'm looking for a good
duckie border, but i still need to paint the bathroom...

i did that with bright orange paint in the bathroom of a
rental apartment once... i painted the bath blaze orange &
neon lemon yellow. really woke you up in the morning! ;) paint
cans tip too easily.

they make purple chalkboard paint now? cool! i want to use
magnetic paint on part of Boo's room. i'm addicted to magnetic
stuff. besides the omnipresent magnetic poetry, i have a
magnetic dress-me Easter bunny & Santa, magnetic castle
pieces, shapes, construction equipment... most of it's on the
refrigerator...at least i *think* there's a refrigerator under
there ;)
i need to clean my room... when i moved friends came in to
'help'. they didn't wait until i went through & sorted the
junk, so *everything* including trash got packed & moved here.
then my housemates decided to take everything from my
workroom, bedroom & office in the old house & just toss it
into my bedroom here. now, nothing is packed in any order or
even neatly. it was shoveled into boxes. i can get to my bed &
thats about it :p
one of these days i'll sort it...

I love loft beds! It's what I really wanted to get for C but the cost was over
my budget right now. Or I wanted to build my own and attach a slide! But I'm
lucky to have time for the painting.
C's room is just a bit bigger, but not much. It's hard to fit all her stuff in
there so I put a lot of it in the garage and change it around every few months.
There are times that she just can't deal w/ the change and I have to put
everything back ... oh well...

ok, tell me more about magnetic paint .. I'm VERY interested!! Is it difficult
to apply? Does it work well? Colors? Could I paint a kids desk w/ it?
mmmm ... I may wait to get that chalk board paint until I know more. I have
not seen magnetic paint at my local Hardware stores.

well, it appears Magnetic Poetry stopped making the paint,
but there's several places online to get it anyway. here's
info, but i don't know if they're the cheapest:
http://www.abcstuff.com/html/magnetic_paint.html (it's made
by Fridgedoor <www.fridgedoor.com>, but they only sell quarts
& gallons. it's not cheap :(

i've made some. Staples sells sticky sided magnet sheet &
then use cute print fabric.
it's more a matter of getting bins so i can sort stuff into
sewing, papermaking, bookbinding, etc. i *have* got all the
fabric washed, ironed & sorted by types into bins, the yarn
has a bin, the beads are sorted by size & color families & are
in bins & drawer units depending on how often i use the
different types (big beads are binned, the 75 kilos of 11s &
15s are binned & the frequently used 11s, 13s & delicas are in
tubes in drawers). i do need to sort & file books again
because Boo's taking over my office bookshelves & books got
moved to my room.
it would help if i could train people to *stop* putting any
odd thing they don't know what else to do with in my room
though :)
